Well, I support Star Wars all the way, I've seen those many many many times. I also support Shawshank, another movie that I can always just watch, whenever it happens to be on TV. Princess Bride is another good one, BUT I've got to be in the mood, really, to watch it.

Missing is The Goonies, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Red Belt, and Batman Dark Night.

Without Scarface or Fight Club this list is void!

Jeremiah Johnson.

"Where you headed?" "Same place you are, Jeremiah: hell, in the end."

Great dialogue and beautiful scenery.

I'd add The Magnificent Seven, Animal House and The Dirty Dozen.

I disagree with about 1/3 of that list....

Remove:

Wizard of Oz
Sound of Music
Gone with the Wind (it's freaking 5 hours long!)
Grease
Dirty Dancing
Titanic
The Notebook
Pride & Prejudice
The Avengers

Replace with:

Animal House
Ferris Beullers Day Off
Hunt for Red October
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Jaws (Original)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
National Lampoons Vacation
Almost Famous

I've watched Titanic, Star Wars (my fave as a kid!!!), Shawshank, Grease, and Goodfellas several times over. The others that I can watch anytime are the Color of Money and Nobody's Fool, both with Paul Newman. And just about anything with Eddie Murphy before 1990.

All

Terminator movies

Alien movies

Die Hard movies

1 Casablanca
2 The Usual Suspects
3 Jackie Brown
4 Batman Rising
5 The Godfather Trilogy
6 Citizen Kane
7 Miracle at Morgan's Creek

10 the Big Lebowski
11 Iron Man
12 Pulp Fiction
13 Fistful of Dollars

Fake list... where the hell is the Ten Commandments and A Christmas Story?

Blazing Saddles
Blues Brothers
Death Wish
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Fistfull of Dollars
Hondo
Smokey and the Bandit
Cannonball Run

Good List.

Probably should add Alien, Aliens and Predator to that list.

If our sole criteria here is re-watchable, I'd add;

The Devil at Four O'Clock
Safety not Guaranteed
The Enemy Below
Memphis Belle (Matthew Modine version)
The Station Agent
Breaker Morant

Is there a Memphis Belle other than the Matthew Modine version?

Is there a Memphis Belle other than the Matthew Modine version?

I thought there was an earlier version. Perhaps not, then. I didn't research it before posting.

tough to rank this

i've seen a lot "important" or famous movies

but the ones i keep watching over and over are seldom critically acclaimed and more just the ones i get a kick out of seeing

I always have time for:

Patton
Dirty Harry
Bourne Identity
The Quick and the Dead
Tombstone

I agree with Pulp Fiction and The Notebook. It always seems like I notice something new with each viewing.
