Bush Says He Regrets Use of Iraq `Mission Accomplished' Banner

He said it months ago too, maybe even last year. Geez let the man retire in peace.

I'm sure he will retire in peace. However the history of his administration will always be discussed just like Nixon's, Carter's, Clinton's, etc.

Oh yeah and that "read my lips guy".

That is too bad.
Maybe it's because my husband is in the military but it was very easy for us to understand that the mission was not the whole war, it was just...that mission. lol.
But it seems like even when it was explained people wanted to use it against Bush. I don't think he should feel responsible for that.

Oh brother.

Laura Bush - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She has done a lot when it comes to recruiting teachers, promoting education, and campaigning for women's health issues. She also called upon politicians not to politicize gay marriage and does not believe Roe v Wade should be overturned. Her approval rating as first lady was very high.

Heck, she would have made a much better President. Too bad she didn't run.

What mission is that, Dix? Please explain.

I don't understand the joy in kicking the guy. He's on his way out, isn't it possible to be gracious?

Tell that to the families that have lost loved ones, both here and in Iraq due to Bush's decisions.

Sorry, but he deserves it all.

I would. It doesn't make the world a better place to be unkind to anyone, even when we think they deserve it.

Which I think is a great motto for you to have. Don't impose that on others, though.

How would I impose it on anyone? I'm just stating my opinion and giving my reasoning. Everyone is certainly welcome to come to their own conclusions.

As for George Bush's regrets, my response is, "Oh brother." This is one he wants to name? This is SO minor compared to many, many, many other mistakes he has made. I find this to be completely shallow.

Oh, puhlease, don't behave as though this is the first time Bush has admitted to making mistake or errors.

Wow, screw those killed on 911, and those killed at the hands of Saddam.

Oh wait are you actually blaming 911 on Bush?:roll:

I agree with Kaleigh, there is something about him that is likeable. When he got all choked up as he said his administration was ready to help Obama, that warmed my heart.

Nevertheless, I am so glad his presidency is almost over.

As for Laura Bush, one of the reasons I thought she was a great First Lady is how nonpartisan she was. That says so much about her character. I found Hillary Clinton to be a polarizing First Lady. I suspect that Michelle Obama will behave in a nonpartisan manner--like she did during the campaign.

I am fascinated by this child like naïve "no mistake" mentality in America today. It is a stunning phenomenon that one can manage any large company, government or war and never make a mistake.

I am looking forward to sharing all the mistakes this new administration will make and watching the Liberals who found so many flaws in Bush writhe and attempt to rationalize them with their blatant hypocrisy.

Laura Bush and George Bush were class acts surrounded by classless Liberal Democrats like Ted Kennedy who engaged in despicable partisan behavior and attacks. They were surrounded by a classless New York Times with a declining readership who engaged in a campaign of distortion, dishonesty, leaks and despicable classless attacks on this administration.

I am looking forward to Obama and this new administration getting slapped with the cold hard REALITY they pretend doesn't exist for them and highlighting every mistake they make over the next four years.

Yes folks, only in a fantasy land that doesn’t exist do politicians not make mistakes, businesses make perfect decisions and Government runs efficiently.

Carry on.

Maybe you need to get off your ass and talk to those families yourself. I know you pretend that sacrifice is something everyone else does for YOU, but the men and women of this mission overwhelmingly disagree with your hypocritical assumptions about their mission and their losses.

I find it despicable when whiney terrorist supporting Liberals have the audacity to speak for the men and women of our military and their losses. You don't speak for them, they don't happen to agree with your opinions and they certainly comprehend a LOT more about what this mission is about, it’s importance and the sacrifice they are willing to make to accomplish that mission.

You would do well to just STFU when it comes to losses and sacrifice; you have no idea what it means and what you are talking about and just show your blatant ignorance on the topic every time you make such inane comments.

It truly pisses me off when Liberals think they speak for the families and their losses; what would you know about it?

I've served my time in the military asshole. So don't tell me what I can or cannot say. You do not get to decide that.

It's pathetic conservatives such as yourself that claim themselves somehow more honorable than everyone else. Here is a big hint and listen closely, you aren't.

Your truth detector is nothing more than a hyper partisan attachment that you have firmly lodged up your ass.

You served?

Who do you pretend to speak for?

I speak for myself and yes I have served. It's funny you and others seem to claim to speak for military members all the time.

It seems Bush is saying alot of things lately that will give a slight rise to his approval ratings and plus people are relieved it's all over for Socialist Bush guised as Conservative Bush. If anybody wants to argue that Bush isn't a Socialist--give me a pm.
