Rather than listening to Democratic and Republican talking heads point fingers at each other, here is how it is going to go down:

1) Since there is less than half a percent difference between Franken and Colemen, an automatic recount is going to be triggered.

2) The recount is going to be done by hand.

3) Both political parties will have representatives watching the hand recount.

4) When the recount is over, whoever loses will have no reason or excuse to accuse the other side of stealing the election.

Revising the vote totals seems like an odd thing to do given that a recount is coming anyway. I'm going to take the results at face value and say that Franken probably had his votes under counted. I just don't see a point in lying right now

The right wrote the book on voter fraud in this country. I am not shocked that so many votes where "found". Bradblog take on this issue is top notch, everyone right or left should read his work.

It should make you sick, because it suggests Republicans may have committed voter fraud in an effort to suppress Democratic votes. A fraud which is being exposed by a recount.

It probably should be no surprise since in other states such as Montana, the Republican Party was accused by its governor of vote caging to purge 6,000 voters from three counties which trend Democratic. Moreover, in Michigan the Republican Party planned to challenge the eligibility of voters based on lists of foreclosed homes, which led to a lawsuit from the Obama campaign.

Given their recent track record in attempted voter suppression and the desperation by the Republican party by the end of the campaign, it probably is not surprising that they might have tried to take advantage of a political newcomer like Franken to steal the election from him by any means possible.

First of all, 60 is just an arbitrary number concocted by the media. On any given issue, a few Democrats or Republicans will break ranks with their party, so 60 isn't a magic number. Very few filibusters are decided entirely along party lines. Having 60 votes is merely one vote better than having 59 votes, nothing more.

Second of all, even if the Democrats pull out a victory in Alaska and Minnesota, there is almost no chance that they will defeat Saxby Chambliss in Georgia.
