Using code words like "Welfare checks" "Six pack joes" "Hockey moms" "Socialist" which is code for black panthers.

The McCain campaign has ran away any black support the Gop might have had under Bush its a shame that the old bastard will win the election with a 1968 George Wallace playbook.


Blacks should support their guy eventhough he's going to lose becaue whites out number blacks. Its a protest vote/ statement really.

This is a good observation. While IMO a high percentage of blacks supporting Obama does not indicate much if anything because they traditionally supported Democratic candidate, the same argument cannot be made as to why they supported Obama in such high percentages over Clinton.

I don't know what % of the black vote Hillary got in her Senate elections, but Bill garnered a significant percentage in his elections, and the Clintons were generally looked upon with favor in the black community.

And as you point out, their policies were relatively similar. If Obama were white, it would be hard to believe that black voters would have abandoned Clinton in anywhere near the numbers that they did. This suggests a far higher percentage voting on race based, or racist reasons.

I was speaking in terms of the general election.

As far as the primaries go, I suspect that black people hold community organizers in higher regard than Senators and First Ladies. They actually see the fruits of their efforts in their neighborhoods directly. I truly believe that if Bill was running the numbers would be different though.
