    TOKYO, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average plunged 5 percent to a 4-1/2-year low on Monday, as investors dumped shares across the board on growing fear the global financial crisis is hitting the wider economy.
    HONG KONG, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares dropped 3.4 percent on Monday, taking their cue from a weak start on the Shanghai bourse following a week-long holiday as the global fallout from the financial crisis spread.

    Bailing out the banks is not going to help.

    We need consumers. And, just because they CAN credit, by no means, does it mean they WILL. Which is just one factor in why the economy is going to continue to sink.
