Here's the differential (as I sat on the sidelines of this post, allowing it to play out):

Joe Biden's "gaffe's" are more factually correct (for what that's worth) than Sarah Palin's genuine attempts at articulating things Vice Presidential.

When Joe blows-off like this, he's misplacing his facts, true. However, Joe Biden is able to correct those misplaced facts because he actually knows better. When Sarah Palin blows-off like this, she's not misplacing facts, because Sarah Palin does not know better.

That's the differential, here. Biden can recover because he knows. Palin cannot recover (absent someone whispering in her right ear), because she does not know. That's the bottom line take away from this.

Now, on the lighter side, that was pretty hilarious - even I have to admit that!

Having said that, anyone foolish enough to attempt to use this gaffe of Biden as some kind of de'facto truth of his 'incompetence' on the 'issues', then I would find that just as hilarious as Biden's gaffe.
