Goobieman, Without the hyperbole, I'll ask you one to one.

You're --supposed-- to be telling us what the point of your poll is, if not to argue for or about gun control.

I think as a wealthy and progressive society with a violent crime rate that's dropping and all the lawful and responsible gun owners out there that 1 shooting per year is too many.

What do you think?

Of course 1 shooting per year is too many. 1 death in any violence-related incident is too many. I think anyone would agree with that. What is your point, though? People bring up gun-control, which is definitely related to the poll topic and you claim that it isn't about that. What, then, is it about if not that? What point are you trying to prove with this poll?

If we want crime to go down, we need crime control, not gun control.

Allright I admit that the 'out of my cold dead hand' option was over the top.

Glad to see you voted 1 was too many.

The way I see it is even 1 shooting, regardless of whether it is justified or not is too many. Even if it is a cop shooting killing a criminal. Because it would mean there is crime. Any crime at all is too much crime.

I don't think the ideal is attainable, though. So, realistically, a rate of about 0.01% nationwide per year ain't all that bad.

It's about having compassion for strangers. You answered how I hoped everyone would. It's simple really, it's just a poll.

I agree. We may also need to recind some laws, laws can effectivley create a crime as much as deter it.

I just don't understand why you chose to focus on shootings, though? Why not all crime?

Only psychopaths lack compassion. But to me, the poll question was like, "Should Republicans stop beating their children? Yes or No"

 I apologize for that. It was foolish thing to do. Hind sight is 20/20 though.
