Why does McCain follow Obama around like a lost puppy?
Talk about desperation and 2-minute drills.
Why is McCain running away from George W. Bush and the rest of the Republican Congress? Is there any reason why George W. Bush is not being used more by McCain in his campaign for the Presidency? Is there a good reason why McCain is not using the success stories of the Bush Administration as the foundation for launching a campaign to continue that success over the next four (4) years of his own Administration? If America had it so good over the last four (4) years under Bush, shouldn't the entire country be flocking to his campaign, as he (McCain) is a member of that same political party? Why is McCain, all of a sudden talking about bringing 'change' to Washington D.C., when before Obama selected Biden, his entire message was that Obama was not 'ready' to be President? Why is McCain, all of a sudden positioning himself as a reformer, when for the first 20 months of his campaign he never once talked about reform? When did McCain finally realize that this Presidential election cycle was about "change" and when did he finally decide to co-opt the Obama campaign message that's been in the public domain for the last 20+ months? It seems to me that watching McCain, I get the strong and very distinct impression that Obama's message has been stolen and is now being used against him. Did the rest of America see this transformation take place, or am I the only one? So, you've got 'youth' on your ticket - well, no problem, we'll head out to Alaska and get some youth to match your youth. So, you've got 'change' as your message - well, no problem, we'll just attempt to trump that by putting a Woman on our ticket regardless of how unprepared she might be. You've been talking reform for the past 20+ months - well, no problem, we'll just go ahead and co-opt your message and start talking reform too right after our national convention. Every move that Obama has made, McCain seems to co-opt. What's up with that? If Obama was that unprepared for the Presidency, then why does McCain steal Obama's campaign message? What's going on here, can't McCain/Rove go get their own campaign message to run with? |

You aren't the only one who has noticed McCain is stealing Obama's material and message.
GWB's approval rating is really, really low so McCain is distancing himself from him publicly. However, GWB's team is training McCain's pitbull so I'm thinking that apple hasn't fallen nearly as far from the tree as he would have us believe. |

I hear they're in some kind of race with each other. Seems pretty dumb by McCain, though. Obama is way more fit

The first thing you ask the bait & tackle shop guy is what the fish are hittin. It could be live bait or spinners or spoons or some kind of lure or it could be red hots or cheese or plastic worms or crawdads or some such things. The American people, in their infinite wisdom, have demonstrated they are hittin on inexperienced minorities and the promise of change. Are you so naive as to suggest the ORIGINAL Mavericks should offer the American people something other than what the American people want? Sarah Palin isn't as inexperienced as Obama, but she's almost as inexperienced. She isn't as exotic a minority, but she's pretty hot looking in her own way. And even though she and McCain will deliver REAL change they can sound just as good in their promises as the Democrats. It's not that they are copying Obama, it's that they are sensing what the American people want and it is what the American people are getting. The customer is always right. Right? But if you want examples of people who are copying someone else, you might look to Obama's statement on the Georgian situation. After three tries he FINALLY got it right when he said the same thing that John McCain said from the jump. Or, you might look at Sen. Biden's plagiarism scandal which scuttled his previous Presidential hopes. Or, more recently... Quote:

Besides, Obama's "change" is really just the typical liberal talking points. Sure, it's a "change" from what we have now, but it should properly be called a "change BACK" -- back to Carter (being the only President who actually tried to govern according to Obama's stuff). |

Re: Why does McCain follow Obama around like a lost puppy?
It's two completely different messages:
Change we can believe in. vs. Change we will actually accomplish. |

![]() Whenever, you feel like explaining Douglas Calum's work on Flight 77's FDR, which was vouched for by the NTSB, then let me know and I will accommodate you in any debate format that you select. That data is bullet proof and it came straight from the Federal Government. It clearly demonstrates that Flight 77 could never have struck the Pentagon and it does it using three (3) separate and distinct dimensions of data/parameters. Now, if you really want to learn something about how things worked on 911, then I'll accommodate you - otherwise, you'd be far better off continuing with your hit-and-run posts that say nothing and demonstrate no real knowledge of the facts. Quote:
1) I'm as Independent as they come. I will split a ticket faster than mach 3.5 and I have no problem admitting when all three sides have a better plan that what my own ego would rather cling to. 2) Kerry, is no Obama. Palin is no Biden. This economy is no joke. And, Bush is exactly like McCain from a pure policy standpoint. That's the differential and qualitative distinction that you miss. 3) Obama has registered almost 6,000,000 new voters, with a whopping 900,000 of them in Ohio alone. And, those are just Obama's numbers. Most people forget when quoting new registered voters, the HRC new voter totals. She's responsible for registering millions, too. Net/net, that will mean a measurable delta over 2000 and 2004 combined in the Obama column even if he only pulls 48.92% of that new pool. As a reminder, Ohio was barely won by Bush, with fractional margin of (I think) 100,000 voters. Not good for McCain in Ohio or Michigan and he (McCain) simply cannot win without BOTH! 4) Keep the humor coming! ![]() BHKAD, Knowing the subject matter the way I do, I do not take offense at your misguided attempt at taking me to school. Rather, I will simply and gently, help to lead you away from the coolaid you now hold in your hands. Contrasting a comparable to fish and the American people, might be something that the school of Rovian Theology teaches, but as one who served his country, I cannot agree with the parallel. I see my fellow Americans as brothers and sisters, not single celled organisms to be led astray at the drop of a 527 sixty second spot. The inexperienced minorities comment says a ton about your level of character and intellect, but I won't go deep into that, because I can't. (let's see if you get that one) Classifying anyone as being naive for recognizing the fallacy of Palin's RNC speech, where she attempt to integrate her 'maverick' with McCain's 'maverick' while raising 'reform', is like attempting to classify Santa Clause with elves from the North Pole. Neither one truly exists. If McCain is a 'change agent', then I'm 007. Definitely, neither shaken or stirred by your reply, I will attempt to help you step into the light, by explaining to you one simple fact of American Politics: No one has the right level of experience for the job of the Presidency unless he/she has already been one. Of course, you already know how moot that point would be. The issue is not now, nor has it ever been, experience. That's yet another Rovian Red Herring. However, the real issues here are: a) Presidential Aptitude b) Presidential Capacity c) Presidential Appropriateness These are the essential factors that determine whether or not one has the requisite competency to be President, not experience. We live in a cause and effect universe and because of that, there can be no effect (experience) without there first being a causality (aptitude, capacity & appropriateness). So, logically and even mathematically (if you push me far enough), I've just proven the Red Herring nature of asking whether or not experience matters. None of the four (4) candidates have it - because from their frame of reference, it simply cannot exist. Attempting to argue against that, is futile, not to mention silly. Both Obama and Biden have more 'competency' for the Presidency than either McCain or Palin. Palin, is a none starter and has been since before she was selected. Obama, has been vetted by an almost 2 year process of being sifted by the American People, and found to be still standing - plus his almost 20 years of public services at various levels including that of State Senator and United States Senator (once again, vetted by even more Americans). Biden has been vetted over his entire career and so has McCain, throughout his entire career in the U.S. Senate. That leaves Palin. The unvetted lipstick wearing bulldog (self-proclaimed, don't blame me for saying it) from Alaska who has NOW been caught telling more lies about what she has done at both Major and Governor, than Wilt Chamberlin has about his variable conquests. Palin, has never been vetted on a national level - ever. She got elected in Tiny Town (Wassila, Alaska) by 11,000 votes - TOTAL. That's not very impressive to be rather honest with you. Alaska itself, could be called Tiny State, on a per-capita basis as its total population is much smaller than the city of San Francisco. Obama, Biden and McCain have been vetted nationally by hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and eventually, millions of Americans. Palin? She was picked by one man, Karl Rove (if the truth be told). That's not very impressive either. The word experience has been misused and abused in this election cycle and for good reason, it is the Republicans albatross. They saw that they could not win on the issues, so they switched to a knife fight and mud slinging. Great or a reality TV show, but not very helpful to the American People who are trying to figure out how to pay that way overdue mortgage payment. Or, whether not this month's cash flow will be used for grocery shopping or energy bills. Many out there can relate to that. 007, I am not (as yoda might say). Maverick, he is not (as yoda might refer to McCain). Quote:
The preparation to perform has to be based in something instantiated before it. Cause and Effect, remember. So, if McCain is 'preparing to perform', what is that 'performance' based upon? That's the question that you've still not handled properly - neither has McCain/Rove. Look, I will be the first to admit, the Rove is not somebody you want to take lightly. This guy knows how to get Americans fighting with each other like no one in politics, I've ever seen before. He is a political consultant to be reckoned with, no doubt. But, that does not make him right. I'm just finding it rather interesting that McCain, during his entire campaign before the Biden pick, was resting on the message that Obama was not prepared for the Presidency, because of his lack of experience. Then what does McCain do next? LOL, he goes out and picks what has to be the single most under prepared person in the land to be his Vice Presidential running mate, thereby canceling out his entire bogus message of preparation/experience. That's laughable. Not to mention holistically illogical. He then, jumps on the bandwagon of 'change', which Obama has been telling the American People was so desperately needed in D.C. since the dawn of his candidacy. And, McCain is getting away with it, no doubt! That's a master flip-flop if I've ever saw one. Lastly, a much better grip on history might help - allow me to try. It was Carter, that had we listened to what the man had to say, could have helped us avoide an illegal war in Iraq. Remember, what Carter tried to tell us about our energy problem back then in the late 1970's? He told us to start back then working on renewable(s) and investing in other forms of energy, so that the nation could begin to put together a new national energy strategy, remember? Did anybody listen to him? No. We thought he was nutz! What else did he tell us repeatedly? He told us that if we kept developing our economy on the energy platform of oil from foreign nations, we might find ourselves having to risk American lives to maintain a connection to that oil, remember? He warned us about the strong potential that he saw well into our future, of war for oil. Did he not? Did we listen? Of course, not. Where are we now? Falsifying intelligence so that we can establish a foothold in the 2nd largest oil producing country in the Middle East - that's where we are today. Obama, has as part of his plan, the strategic mindset that Kennedy had with respect to landing a man on the moon. And, you know what? I know we can do it. I know enough about much of the energy technology that's in use today, to know that we can do it, and it can be done within 10 years. We cannot do everything in 10 years, but we sure can significantly reduce our dependency on foreign oil (what Carter warned us about more than 30 years ago!) and we can start with Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology, among several other things. Unlike NASA, an entity that I have a tremendous amount of respect for, it should not be a 100% government run entity. It should be approximately 40% Federal and 60% private. This is where private industry can really make a huge impact on the future of America in a positive way, instead of polluting our air and water supply. Drilling in Alaska, is NOT (I repeat) NOT the long-range, or even a good medium-range solution to this problem. They are not telling you the truth about the surveyed available pockets of crude on Palin's North Slope. They are not telling the truth about the time-line for bringing that crude to the American markets. They are not telling the truth about how much they will get to bring to American markets, given the way such a project would be financed according to Palin (see most recent CNBC interview with Marria Bartiromo). And, they are not telling the truth about ROI event horizons as they target 5 years and NO serious minded oil research expert that I've ever read comes close to 5 years for both deployment of the new volume AND ROI with its positive impact on the U.S. economy. I await all your replies!
