You don't think that ObamaTaxCut.com is an Obama calculator? What is it then, a McCain tax cut calculator disguised as an Obama tax cut calculator? And the point I was trying to make is that any calculator such as this one is only as accurate as the honesty of the politician, so if you trust politicians to follow through, then yeah, trust the calculator, but I personally don't think that either Obama or McCain will follow through completely on their promised tax cuts. That's all I'm saying.

The issue is just how much more of a tax cut you will get from Obama.

My question centers around the fact that McCain is lying his ass off to all of us and pumping all this misinformation to us that Obama will raise your taxes.

I think that anyone intelligent enough to use the internet is able to label McCain's words about Obama and taxes as an outright lie.
McCain is basing this statement off of only 5% out of 100.

What I want to know is whether or not any Republican's are offended by the lie, even a little bit.
Or if Republicans feel the lie is fine because the end justifies the means.
As in winning is so important that it simply does not matter how it is done, so long as it happens.

Exactly how do McCain supporters feel about this?
Personally I would feel insulted. It would make me think that McCain thought I was extremely stupid.

I am sort of expecting Obama to call McCain a liar to his face at the debate in a very firm and direct manner.
I am just not sure of what the reaction will be.
From what I read, most people under $250K will be taxed less on their incomes with both candidates.

According to a few "non-partisan" sites, however, my income level (which is under $250K) would see a lesser tax bill under McCain than Obama. So while he might not be *raising* them, he's cutting them less than McCain and I'd pay more with Obama's than McCain's

Well, I consider it to be a solid fact that Obama will give a greater tax break to the middle class and poor.
But lets move on...
Based on your post, you clearly see that McCain is a liar when he relentlessly says Obama will "RAISE" your taxes.

My question is how do you feel about that?
If your able to admit that Obama will give you a tax break, then you should also be able to call McCain a liar.
Even if you support McCain, facts and logic do not cease to exist.

The "poor" already get huge tax breaks. People who claimed EIC actually get money FROM the government, no? So not only do some pay zero income tax, they actually get money.

Perhaps he is a liar by saying he's raising them instead of cutting them less. I also think there are taxes besides federal income taxes (50 cents a gallon for every gallon of gas is a tax  ) and I also believe that raising corporate taxes will also eventually cost *me* money because corporations will just pass on those costs to me. Fred Thompson addressed that specifically at the convention.

So I guess I don't care too much if he's "lying." I figure for every lie McCain tells, there's a lie Obama is telling, too. Seems to be the game.

I believe the EIC is designed to refund taxes paid be the poorest.

The federal gas tax is about .17/gal, I believe.

I agree. Corporations should not be taxed. People who benefit from corporations should be taxed.

Good rationalization.
