With Palin as the VP for McCain, are any of you upset Obama didn't take Clinton as his VP? Or were you disappointed all along that he failed to give her the nod as his running mate?

Vent. Let's hear your complaints.

As a heretofore Obama supporter, I guess I don't really qualify to answer this anymore. However, if I was still intent on voting for him, I would not be upset in the slightest that he didn't choose her. Simply put, Hillary creeps me out. She gives me the screaming heebie jeebies. When her voice comes on in my car radio, the temperature immediately plummets twenty degrees. On a strictly unemotional level, however, I still wouldn't have wanted Obama to select her because she has no cross-over appeal. Although half of democrats don't like her, pretty much 100% of Republicans despise her. It just wouldn't have been strategically smart to opt for her as a running mate.

Not at all. I am very pleased in his pick as VP.

To be honest I could only be happier if Obama was Biden's VP instead of the other way around.

I've never really cared for Hillary much even though I can agree with some of her politics I just don't like something about her. I think Obama's choice was fine, but I think I would have been fine with Hillary too. It will mainly bother me if it turns out to be a contributing factor in an Obama loss.

Considering I'd have rather voted for Hitler than Hillary, absolutely not. She's a self-serving bitch who I don't want anywhere near the White House ever again. Obama did fine.

Well said. Though I am feeling a bit less emphatic about it now that she and Bill really did pull their speeches together to support the party and hence Obama. If she had run her campaign more like she behaved this week, there was a time I could've been swayed, doubtful but possible. Instead she showed what an SSB she truly was to the point that if she was on the ticket at all, I wouldn't have voted for her.

I am glad he didn't pick her. She would have more effect at energizing the GOP base than McCain.

I think he should have picked Hillary but Biden ensures that the biggest criticism of an Obama administration is taken care of(foreign policy).

No. I don't think he could've won with hillary. i want him to win.

I stated yes because, while I understand why he didn't want to pick her and I am genuinely happy with the Biden pick, there is a part of me that is disappointed that he didn't pick Hillary. I think if he had picked her, they would be an unstoppable ticket.

However, Obama may not feel truly comfortable with Hillary to really want her as his VP. Her comment about Bobby Kennedy was creepy, and I would worry that she would secretly be hoping that she would have the opporutnity to be president. Also, she's married to a former President. Who wants a former President living in the Vice President's house?

I think I would have felt a little conflicted had he picked Hillary, but I genuinely believe that would have assured Obama's win in November.

Picking Hillary would've been a mistake. As Obama himself purportedly stated, "I can't have a White House with three presidents."

I said yes and my reasons parallel those expressed by aps. I'm not happy with Biden, but I can vote for him.

He's probably not going to have a White House at all by not taking her, however. And a real leader would simply delegate some authority to her (I'd just tell her "Here, you take on health care"), keep them happy, but always under watch, always in control.

Meh, I'm skeptical of Hillary's ability to deliver the votes from the people still holding out from the primary, even if she was on the ticket.

I think that picking her as his running mate has some very obvious costs, with few benefits.

Oh, God, did you see those links Zyphillin posted last night from Hillary web sites? I'll have to link that I forget what thread it was on. Hold on.

From what I hear, they aren't really Hillary supporters. Many Hillary supporters on other sites have mentioned getting banned within 5 minutes for even mentioning the possibility that they would vote for Obama after the convention. Banned and posts deleted.

To begin, I would like to say that I am a new member of the forum and I am excited to be here.

That said, I can say this:

I was a little dissapointed when I heard that Obama did not pick Hillary as his VP, but when I heard and studied through Biden's background I found Obama's choice in Biden to be a good one.

I was dissapointed at first, but no more.

I know im no Obama supporter but i couldnt be more happy she aint gonna be president or vice president i really really dont like the Clintons.I think Obama made the decision because he actually wanted to be president and Hillary would have been a Dick Cheney type charactor if she was VP.
