I seriously doubt the validity. Much of the test is about education, not intelligence.

Whether or not you know the name of mathematical theorems or the names of who filled a post at the UN are not indicitive of intelligence. They are purely a result of whether or not you have ever learned those.

And I scored 117.

Sorry. The only IQ test that I have had administered was when I was in high school, and it was not the Stanford-Binet test. It didn't even use the same scale with 100 being average, so I can't really give a comparison.

All that I can say about my score on the administered test is that I was in the top 8% of the population.

I clicked randomly at answers and took the entire test in about a minute and a half.

My IQ is 111 apparently when randomly picking answers!

That test was truly retarded.

My real IQ is 193

Tested 163 in college (in 1985) with the Stanford-Binet test. Took a MENSA test a few years later and scored the exact same.

Been afraid to take another test since, including the one linked here, for fear that I could no longer consider myself a "genius".

I do know that MENSA is legitimate, and they have an standardized test for you to take if you want to spend the time and trouble. If any of you take it, please post your scores on this thread.

Mensa also allows you to join so long as you've scored in the 95th percentile on either the GMAT or the LSAT. These are tests that you can simply study for and have little to do with IQ.

If people cared less about their IQ and more about what they do with it, the world would be a far better place.

Funny, even with my poor spatial reasoning I've never scored lower than 130 on a professionally-administered test.
