Question Re: Should McCain pick a pro-choice VP?

McCain is a US Senator, how did he make the least of his opportunities?

He skated thru the Naval Acadamy, for starters. By his own admission he didn't put much effort into his studies.
He DID manage to marry into money, get into politics, etc. but hasn't accomplished much while in office.
And after all his years in office, still doesn't know anything about economics?
He does have a copy of Greenspan's book, tho....

With all the troubles going on in the country this should really be a non issue. To be a realist, even if he picks a pro-life VP I seriously doubt the VP would put abortion at the front, or even on, his to-do list. It would just be a cover and a ploy to get more votes and it's sad that it would pull people in to vote for him. But most people just like to hear what they want to hear and don't see the broader picture.

Sadly, there are a lot of single issue voters out there.....

Re: Should McCain pick a pro-choice VP?

The biggest problem with Romney is that he's flip-flopped on the abortion issue so many times that he can't be trusted. I'd just about buy a used car from McCain but definitely not from Obama, Hillary or Bill Clinton, Mike Huckabee, Joe Biden or Mitt Romney.

To be fair to Huckabee, he's a total lunatic but the rest of them are just a bunch of crooks and liars. Romney is probably either totally confused on the abortion issue or else trying to be all things to all people. One minute he's for it, then against it, then for it, then against it again - he changes his mind like the wind.

How can you trust a man like that?

I must have posted on here a million times telling people to stop exaggerating, and here someone else is doing it...
If you want to win in Massachusetts, you are pro-choice. If you want to win any office anywhere else as a republican, you are pro-life. He hasn't flip flopped "like the wind", just changed his position to suit the office he is seeking at the time. ALL politicians have done that on one or more issues.
If you don't pander, you ain't campaigning properly....

I don't think it's a concern that the VP would put abortion on their "to do" list, but that there's a real possibility that the VP could become President and that their Supreme Court appointments will put it on theirs.
