I enjoyed the article, and I confess that I had no idea that surrogacy can run up to $150,000! Holy smokes! I wonder what the cheapest surrogate would run someone wanting to have a child of their own?

Good for them. I hope the trend continues. There can never be enough loving parents out there and hopefully the people who are against this kind of thing will see that the sex of both parents has no bearing on the quality of parenting or amount of love and care that they can give their children.

When I discovered that Philly's gayborhood has a maternity store it sent me into a state of pissed off that I have yet to recover from. I seriously want to brick those ass bags.

I wasn't aware that there are no lesbians in gayborhoods for a maternity store to cater to.

I'm going to say seeing that as lesbians don't wear nice clothes when they're not pregnant, they're probably not going to go designer when they are.

Because there is so much legal and financial hoopla when gay couples want to have kids, you end up having families that tend to be more secure and committed. Compare that to some heterosexual couples who have kids by accident. What this article discusses does not surprise me, and it provides further evidence that counters homophobic reasoning behind denying these people their livelihood.

How long until we see a push to make the public offset the higher costs that 2 gay men incur when using a surrogate mother as opposed to 2 lesbians who simply need a sperm donor?
