How profound, Jeff still thinks that Communism was a CHOICE.

What is fascinating about this level of denial we are seeing from our forum Liberals and Leftists is that they actually think that Communist Russia, China, Vietnam was a choice.

Yes Jeff, all Communists have been ELECTED to power. I guess it never occurs to these people that communism does not require that the people CHOOSE it, it only requires ambitious political operatives willing to subvert the process and take power by intimidation, subversion, lies, distortions, re-inventing the facts and eventually through brute force. (gee, sounds a lot like today’s Democrats doesn’t it?)

Yes, it appears to be the favorite response from the Left to suggest that anyone who suggests that having Communists on one's campaign might be illustrative of the political state of mind of said Democrats. I didn't hear the thread author talk about a "red' threat did you?

Now instead of making up arguments no one has made, why not debate why anyone would defend communism knowing what we do about it?

Let's debate the merits and successes of Socialism, Communism and Market based economies. I doubt the forum trolls and Leftists can get there though, they are far better making up juvenile one liners than they are of anything remotely considered intellectually honest.

Let's have a debate about Obama's plans to drag this country kicking and screaming into a Socialist quagmire where tax rates will have to be jacked up by over 100% in order to pay for it all instead of pretending that he "cares" more than those evil Republicans.

It does get tiring hearing the typical and old juvenile trolling.

I haven't heard ANYONE claim that Hillary, or Obama for that matter, as being a Marxist.

You live in an alternate universe obviously, last time I looked; the military hasn't "forced" anyone to join it. In addition, I find your false assertion that it is only those from the poorest families who join.

There are a lot of SMART people with degrees who CHOOSE the military and actually find the idea of SERVING the nation as being HONORABLE and their PATRIOTIC duty.

In other words for those of you living in the Socialist network, they actually LOVE this country and look at it as a way to SERVE it; an idea anathema and foreign to Socialists and Leftists.

It is insulting and offensive in the extreme, not to mention ignorant, to suggest that only the dregs of our society would join for reasons they cannot find a job elsewhere.

Maybe you should get some FACTS and INFORMATION before you make such outrageous and false assertions?

I disagree that illustrating someone has Communist leanings as being "scare" tactics. If anything it is informative of a political philosophy many in this country do not share and feel should be kept on the fringes of political power.

However, if we look at the rhetoric from the Liberal News media and Democrats, yes they are using scare tactics; America Tortures it's prisoners, America is in a RECESSION, we are in a QUAGMIRE in Iraq, we are LOSING in Iraq, Bush is EVIL, Cheney is EVIL, Republicans are EVIL, Bush lied people died, evil Bush policies have caused higher GAS prices, evil Bush policies resulted in the budget deficit, the MORTGAGE crisis, the FINANCIAL crisis, the STOCK market crisis, the GLOBAL warming crisis.

The list is long on scare tactics from the Democrats, but meanwhile, Iraq is marching towards Democracy and ridding themselves of desperate terrorists, the economy is still growing, credit is still available, unemployment is still low, inflation still within reason regardless of the inflationary pressures, our gas prices are still HALF of what our allies in Europe are paying, our tax rates are HALF of what our allies in Europe are paying and 95% of mortgage holders are still paying their mortgages.

Now if I lived in Europe, I would be VERY afraid of the future.

The bottom line is, when all the dire warnings and divisive rhetoric is done, we find that all the "chicken little" claims from the Democrats and Left are just that, empty whiney blather.

Do you know what REALLY scares me and many like me, people like you who defend the divisive rhetoric of politicians who want to turn this nation into a dependent class who relies on Government largess to solve all their social ills. People like you who argue for Socialism in a vacuum as if anything the Government gets involved in isn’t a disaster or efficient use of resources. People like you who illustrate the complete lack of economic knowledge. People like you who are more then willing to subvert honest intellectual discourse by calling people you disagree with homophobes, bigots, racist’s et al.

People like you who wallow in denial and economic ignorance ARE the greatest threat to the future of this nation. People like you will willingly hand their freedoms over to a Socialist political philosophy based on the notion that only Government can take of our poor, only Government can solve our social issues, only Government can provide for our retirement, only Government can care for our children, and only Government can care for the elderly.

But the profound reality is that these are anathema to what has historically made this nation great. A nation is great by staying OUT of peoples lives, by allowing it’s citizens to make decisions for their OWN well being, by protecting their citizens from outside elements bent on destroying and killing them, by enforcing the laws established by politicians chosen by the people. This nation was formed for the PRIMARY reason people wanted LESS Governance not MORE. They wanted to remove the YOKE of Government/Authority from the people and let them live their lives the way they wanted to live them free from overbearing Government authority.

Today we see a march in the WRONG direction back to MORE Government, more regulation and Socialism that would serve to turn the citizens of this great nation into a dependent class of people that is subservient to the Government and not its master.

Willing idenial and gnorance is the greatest threat to this nation and its future.

If we're going to go into a foreign nation and spend trillions there for their freedom, why shouldn't that same government have a duty to help it's own citizens? I've paid thousands of $'s to the government, and all I've seen in return is a **** police officer.

With this mentality, why would anyone work? Why should anyone work?

Europe is confronting its socialist largess as we speak. In Germany, as an example, you can get paid to sit on your ass and collect unemployment, free dental and free health care. Why work as long as someone else is going to pay for it?

This is why their productivity levels are becoming lower than our own, why their unemployment levels are double ours and why their tax rates are double our own.

Try to imagine for a minute, a society that relies on the Government to take care of their health care and dental, their retirement income and their social welfare; is this a FREE society or a dependent society?

Show me the one instance where I ever said or even suggested that communism has been a choice anywhere in the world. My two statements that you are surely referring to were pretty damn clear, how you mucked them up so badly I can only imagine. I said that Obama would have to convince Congress to adopt the planks of communism for it to be a realistic concern...which is not going to happen. Where in that do I state communism is a choice? I later made a statement to the effect that if the majority of people really wanted communism, we would get it. And that is the truth. Think real hard about what I am saying here, I know you like to run with things. Let's see if you get it.
Actually what is fascinating is watching you build straw men that turn the tables on you and beat your ass. When you use the word "actually" it just makes this SOOOOO much easier for me. So why don't you show me where I specifically ever made a SINGLE statement of ANY kind that would suggest I believed communism in Russia, China, and Vietnam were choices. Communism requires that at least some people choose it. Or has it never occurred to you that communism is an ideology that must be embraced by some in order for it actually work. It doesn't need to be embraced by all, just enough to enforce its tenets on others. And to answer your idiotic question, no...it sounds nothing like the democrats. Try again Sparky.
