True as this may be, I believe there is a difference between being overweight, and obese. The overweight certainley aren't in the greatest of shapes, but can still function normally. The obese sweat when they think.

This is correct. In China, today, people will greet each other by saying, "You look like you've gained weight". This is considered quite a compliment, as it indicates that you have enough money to eat well.
