CNN is reporting that Senator Kennedy, who abandoned Mary Lou Kopechne to slowly drown in Poucha Pond on Chappaquiddick, has suffered a massive stroke and been rushed to Mass General Hospital, condition unknown. The ominous tones of the reporters seemingly portends a death announcement. Stay tuned.

Well he is an old timer. Not like this was unexpected. It'd be a shame to see the last member of an American Royal family disappear. His name has a historical significance. I wouldn't be able to tell you a damn thing he did off the top of my head on a rainy day but I'd be able to associate him with the Kennedys. Oh well.

All I can say as far as Kennedy is concerned is, good riddance. He reminds me of the phrase only the good die young.

praise i am hearing about him is that while being a true liberal
he was willing to reach across the aisle to get things done
and that he would even argue against his own parties amendments, just to get legislation passed

I do not agree with Kennedy's policies, but still it is sad to hear that he is in this kind of condition. He is obviously well respected by his constituency and they will be very upset if he does not recover.
