As far as being a "neo-con." Look up the definition of a Neo-Con, and then look up all my posts. I am essentially the opposite of the definition. Nice try though buddy. It's funny how you have blasted me in the past for generalizing people in to groups while you have no problem mis-labeling me as part of a group.

(Here is one definition I found simply by typing neo-con in google: Neoconservative – A "neocon" is more inclined than other conservatives toward vigorous government in the service of the goals of traditional morality and pro-business policies. Tends to favor a very strong foreign policy of America as well.)

"positive" and "negative" are completely relative. you sound as if you think what seems "positive" to you, ought to be positive for everyone. people that have different opinions than you, have a "depressing way of looking at life?" has it occurred to you that maybe war crimes aren't positive? that disregarding the constitution isn't positive? that lying isn't positive?

The crowd response...

Many have been offended by recent comments across the landscape, but, as if by sheer irony and improbability, NO ONE in attendance immediately rejected the "poorly chosen words"!!!...

When Wright was yelling "God daaaaaamn America", there wasn't a gasp...There was admiration and exhuberation...When Michelle tells the crowd she's never been proud of America in her adult life, there was polite applause...When Obama tells how small-towns "cling to guns and religion", there was nobody saying "What?!?!?!"...

That tells you that whether or not Obama's words or Michelle's word or Wright's words were "poorly written" or not, one thing is clear...

The crowd ACCEPTED the words as truth...

If anyone thinks that what Obama said was condescending and arrogant, just think about the fact that he has many supporters who feel the exact same way...

That's true, and it's something conservatives should take note of: there is great discontent in this nation. There is great discontent with the status quo.
As of yet the underclass is harmless; panem et circenses.
If the panem is subtracted from the equation (a distinct possibility, giving the looming global food shortage), hell will break loose.
Right now, the underclass is soft and weak, their righteous discontent undermined by Nintendo and twinkies (not to mention booze and crack).
Take those things away, they'll toughen up in a hurry, and become a force to be reckoned with.

I support Obama, and I fully acknowledge that he is speaking in a sort of code, and that I imagine his oft-repeated refrain "Oops, I misspoke!" is merely a half-arsed nod to propriety, no doubt accompanied by a smirk, at least inwardly.
He is eloquent, and I don't believe he's ever said anything he didn't mean.
