Republicans for Obama

John McCain joined liberals in enthusiastically promoting amnesty for illegal aliens.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing the Bush tax cuts.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting criminal trials for terrorists.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting stem-cell research on aborted fetuses.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting crackpot global warming legislation.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting Social Security credit for illegal aliens.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting free speech-crushing campaign-finance laws.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing a marriage amendment to the Constitution.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing waterboarding terrorists.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing energy exploration in Alaska.

John McCain has repeatedly joined liberals in trashing Christians.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing a gay-marriage ban.

John McCain attempted to join liberals in Election 2004, as John Kerry's running mate.

John McCain joined liberals in making excuses for keeping abortion on-demand legal.

If McCain gets in, he will do what McCain does-give Democrats everything they want. Democrats will sweep Congress in the mid-terms and we will have 4 years of Democrat policies on everything except surrendering Iraq to terrorists.

If the most partisan liberal extremist in all the Senate, Obama, gets in, he will spend the first two years negotiating with terror-states, surrendering Iraq to jihadists, and getting everything Democrats want domestically...Then Republicans will sweep Congress in the mid-terms as always, but by even larger margins than usual, and we will have 2 years of partisan gridlock.

Bottom line:

Partisan gridlock and surrender in Iraq (Obama) is better than spending 4 years turning this country into a Socialist dung heep not worth defending (McCain).

McCain? No!

I have my problems with McCain, but I also have too many problems with Obama to be able to vote for him. He would take away my guns, liberalize the Supreme Court, and do a lot of other things that I would not to be able to stomach. I cannot in good conscience hold my nose and vote for Obama. About the only good thing about an Obama presidency would be that the Republican party would no longer be able to take Conservatives for granted and give us the shaft, like they have been doing. Still, it is not good enough for me to vote for Obama. However, I can still vote for the Libertarian candidate, who is the only one who truly represents Conservative values, and I can walk away from the voting booth not feeling dirty.

Re: Republicans for Obama

Wow. Aqua's done...a 2nd about face.

From "oppose McCain on principle" to "Support McCain because the war is all that matters" and now back to "oppose McCain"?

Hopefully you stick to this one this time, as at the moment amazingly enough I...not quite as extreme....kind of agree with you.

-edit-

Agree with you about it possibly being better in the long term with Obama getting in than McCain. Not agreeing with you in actively supporting Obama if you're suggesting that.

Show me where I ever advocated getting behind McCain.

Re: Republicans for Obama

My appologizes if I misunderstood your intent with Suggesting that McCain should draft Condi as VP and the "Anti-McCain pile on" threads. It had seemed you had switched from your "no mccain" stance to a "he's the republican guy so lets find a way to make it good" type mentality. if that wasn't the case, i retract my earlier statements.

Why do you say that? I'm a progressive. I own a gun. Hubby owns multiple guns. We both have concealed weapon permit (I let mine expire though--gotta take care of that).

I promise you, Dana, we are not the only progressive people in the USA who own guns. Obama is not going to take away your guns.

Re: Republicans for Obama

Obama is likely not going to "take away his guns" (unless he's got an "assult weapon")

But he may very well take away his ability to concealed carry.

I just don't see that happening. Too many Americans carry guns. I view this as a non-partisan issue that people from both sides of the aisle can agree on.

Obama has already expressed an intent to nationally take away concealed carry. IMHO, that would be tantamount to taking away my guns.
