A rather immature attempt. Cant you do better? I'd love to see an empirical source that blew my position out of the water...

Re: Income and Social Mobility

Your supporting material is political nature and not empirical. I am not interested in your politics other than to marvel at its naivete.

Any response you make to me that you wish serious consideration of must be your own work, in your own words. I do not require any citation or link from you nor will I visit your links. I will not link my stuff to anything nor will I respond to any request for background information or supporting material.

One would think by now that you would have realized that there is some problem with your method of discourse that is putting off everyone on this board who you seem very much to want to be taken seriously by. Perhaps you could take a social inventory and work on your lack of people skills.

I'm afraid you're talking tosh. I've provided 3 empirical sources to your none. You haven't even bothered to try the obvious response: reference an article that supports your hypothesis

I know why you haven't. It doesn't exist. Learned helplessness has then ensured your reaction.

I've never given a toss about popularity. I do treasure rationality though. Your responses have not been consistent with such behaviour. You've coupled anti-intellectualism with delaying tactics. Time for you to grow a pair and offer some empirical evidence

At least you haven't wasted your time typing more anti-intellectualism. There is always a positive!

Still no counter-evidence. Shocked, simply shocked

Another paper apparently relevant to the thread is Restuccia and Urrutia 2004, Intergenerational Persistence of Earnings: The Role of Early and College Education, American Economic Review, Vol 94 Issue 5, pp 1354-1378):

"Recent empirical evidence from the United States indicates a high degree of persistence in earnings across generations. Designing effective public policies to increase social mobility requires identifying and measuring the major sources of persistence and inequality in earnings. We provide a quantitative model of inter-generational human capital transmission that focuses on three sources: innate ability, early education, and college education. We find that approximately one-half of the intergenerational correlation in earnings is accounted for by parental investment in education, in particular early education."
