How McCain has backstabbed Catholics

McCain waited until after the Texas primary to distance himself from Hagee. A known anti-Catholic pastor. It's funny how McCain's clear ***-****ing of the Catholics has been completely overlooked by even our top conservatives. How can it be that McCain refuses to denounce such endorsement and yet days after he wins the Texas primary. He denounces Hagee. The same man he was praising :

Quote:
McCain was pressed on the issue Friday morning in Round Rock, Texas. Hagee "supports what I stand for and believe in," McCain said.

"When he endorses me, that does not mean that I endorse everything that he stands for and believes in," McCain said. "I don't have to agree with everyone who endorses my campaign."

He added that he was "proud" of Hagee's spiritual leadership of his congregation at the 17,000-member Cornerstone Church.

March 1st

Quote:
PHOENIX - John McCain is refusing to renounce the endorsement of a prominent Texas televangelist who Democrats say peddles anti-Catholic and other intolerant speech.

Instead, the Republican presidential candidate issued a statement Friday afternoon saying he had unspecified disagreements with the San Antonio megachurch leader, John Hagee. Hagee endorsed him at a news conference Wednesday in San Antonio.

March 7th

McCain seeks distance from pastor - Yahoo! News

Quote:
NEW ORLEANS - Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Friday repudiated any views of a prominent televangelist who endorsed him last month "if they are anti-Catholic or offensive to Catholics."

McCain has come under fire since televangelist John Hagee endorsed him on Feb. 27, but until Friday his response had been tepid. The Arizona senator merely said he doesn't agree with everyone who endorses him. He said Friday he had been hearing from Catholics who find Hagee's comments offensive.
What happened in between?

Why of course the Texas primary. Which took place on the 4th of March.

It's funny how you haven't addressed the point I've made. Are you still sore from your little scrap with me yesterday or do you want me to sit you down a few more times?

Yes. Which is why he rejected the words of Farrakhan. You've got to be kidding me.

Yea but it wasnt quite an outright rejection. The point is like Mccain said you dont have to agree with someone for them to agree with you on something.

What more did you want him to say that he didn't?

Really?

Obama backs Israel, rejects Farrakhan's backing - Yahoo! News

Quote:
"But if the word 'reject' Senator Clinton feels is stronger than the word 'denounce,' then I'm happy to concede the point. And I would reject and denounce," he said to laughter.
You were saying?
