Lies

Lately the strategy has been to lie about Obama. Last week he was a "plagiarist." But, how is it possible to be a plagiarist when the guy you're plagiarizing happens to be your friend and tells you to say what you said? I have no idea. I guess it makes sense if you want to believe it.

And there's a new lie this week. Expect more of them, all year long.

This is exactly what Karl Rove said in yesterday's Wall Street Journal:

Quote:
Mr. McCain can now question Mr. Obama's promise to change Washington by working across party lines. Mr. Obama hasn't worked across party lines since coming to town. Was he a member of the "Gang of 14" that tried to find common ground between the parties on judicial nominations? Was Mr. Obama part of the bipartisan leadership that tackled other thorny issues like energy, immigration or terrorist surveillance legislation? No. Mr. Obama has been one of the most dependably partisan votes in the Senate.
Talk about a pot calling the kettle black. In this case, Rove is about the blackest pot you could have.

Memo to Karl: "You do not see things as they are. You see things as YOU are."

Has Obama not worked across party lines since coming to town? You be the judge:

You mean like NBC and Dan Rather LIED about GWB's National Guard Records back in 2004?????? Isn't it amusing how the "other side" cries "foul" when their own twisted tactics are used against them? Get over it ........... it's all part of the game buddy-boy, and if Barack can't overcome it, he won't be much of a leader.

uh, no, I don't mean like that. GWB's guard service is still very much in question. I'm sure you could find a comparable libtard example, but certainly not a stream of them one after the other, day in and day out. anyways, you picked a bad one. sorry. but regardless, since Barack has been overcoming it all and seems to do damage control just fine, it appears he'll make do as a leader. but don't worry, it'll be bad for your cognitive dissonance, but just fine for you as a person, even though you won't realize it. or much of anything else. carry on.

oh, oh, oh .... I can't resist sharing this with you. a classic quote talking about that whole thing ...

Quote:
You can't have missed the fact that the president this week gave the dumbest speech in the history of that office. You would not think you could stuff that much stupid into a single human being, but they managed to do it. Turns out, Iraq is Vietnam after all, if it's not Korea, and it's still World War II, unless it turns out to be World War IV. It's a dessert topping! It's a floor wax! Our inexplicable quitting of Southeast Asia after dropping the 500,000th ton of bombs on the place is the reason we lost the World Trade Center nearly three decades later. Ayman al-Zawahiri said so, and if you can't trust his grasp of American political history, who can you trust anyway? Oh, and we're all Alden Pyle, who turns out to have been a much sweller feller than Graham Greene thought he was. I swear to almighty god, if they'd put in his text that we're all really the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he'd have read that. And CNN would have broadcast it, verbatim, without its anchors falling off their stools in helpless laughter. Have I mentioned recently that we're freaking doomed? Mind you, I think he has a point about Vietnam. One more trained pilot from the champagne unit of the Texas Air National Guard, and we'd have kicked Charlie's *** all over Indochina. Shame there wasn't one of those available. - Charles Pierce, 8/24/2007

GWB's Guard Service is still very much in question by WHOM, exactly? Left-Wing Nut Jobs like Michael Moore? Where are your sources? Weren't those documents (which were practically flaunted all over our biased media like some kind of trophy) PROVEN to be forged??? How many tabloids and blog sites have you sifted through in order to come to this brilliant deduction Watson? Perhaps you reside in that "Magical World" where only Republicans can be involved in conspiracies and cover-ups?
I'll just bet you went hoarse back during the 2004 Election from chanting, "Bush Lied, People Died!" Compared to the scrutiny GWB has faced from the Media, Congress, and the "Hollyweird Elite" over the past 7 years, the criticisms of, and "lies" about Barack have been virtually non-existent! Hollyweird and the media are having a virtual love-fest with Obama. But, then again, how dare we scrutinize such an experienced leader, after all, he's half African-American, he speaks well and says the words "hope" and "change" alot. All characteristics of a great leader!
Had you taken a poll on the streets of America 12 months ago, I'd wager 90% of adults, when asked who Barack Obama was, wouldn't have known Barack Hussein Obama from Osama Bin Laden -- now, all of the sudden, he's the Second Coming of Christ! Give me a break!!!!!

John Kerry's "superiors/friends" also said he was a slacker, "was never in Laos or Cambodia," and practically got hit in the leg with a bubble-gum wrapper or something equally as "deadly" to get his Purple Hearts. You starting to see how the art of hyperbole and political hubris can work for both sides?

Re: Lies

Karl Rove is synonamous with lies and represents everything that is wrong with American politics today.

While I am certain that there are people on my side of the aisle that engage in similar tactics, I would not defend them either.

Smear politics are wrong, right or left...and there is none who is more proficient at engaging in the sleaze than Karl Rove.

Which has what to do with the fact that Bush's slacking was well known? - Not much of a lie when the story checks out. As opposed to Kerry. Where his own crew mates acknowledged that they might have gone into Cambodian waters.

Since when does getting hit with shrapnel equate to bubble gum wrapper? Your incredibly ignorance shows through.
