GOP sources: Romney to suspend campaign

Looks like Romney is drpping out of the race..........

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will suspend his Republican presidential campaign after a disappointing showing in this week's "Super Tuesday" primaries and caucuses, GOP sources said today. Romney is expected to announce his decision this afternoon at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, three Republican sources told CNN.

This is surprising. I didn't expect him to conceive of vanishing so fast.

Wow. I've got to say, that makes absolutely no sense.

As a side note, Romney just went from 35 to 0.4 on intrade.

Not that surprising to me. Romney was pouring a lot of his own money into his campaign. I said a week ago, that if Romney did not do well on Super Tuesday, then he had to make a decision whether or not to keep pouring his own money in. However, if he had stayed in, I think there would have been a chance of this being a brokered convention, which would have still given him a chance as a compromise candidate.

Looks definitely like McCain now, unless Huck can pull off a miracle. I wonder if Romney is going to give Huck his delegates.

He's spending his own money, and staying in the race is a waste of his money. I actually feel a little sad for the guy.

Can he do that? If so, I would love it if he did!

He basically paid $35 million for the privilege of having his reputation ruined.

Maybe, but Romney's platform is ideologically closer to that of Huck than it is to McCain.
