Now usually I don't really care what Christians believe as long as it doesn't affect me in any way. However the racial origins of Jesus have always aroused my curiosity. I've done some research and I've noticed that Christians don't really put much thought in Jesus's origins as far as his appearance went. I have however done a bit of snooping and so far the groups I've taken a look at oppose the notion that Jesus was even remotely brown skinned. I've also done some researching for Christian images and I've noticed that most of the images I've seen out of a 100 - 99 have a white Jesus with soft hair and brown/hazel eyes. None of these are acknowledging of historical accuracy or of the Middle Eastern appearance Jesus would have had. I was wondering - am I the only one that has realized this?

I'm not saying it's some kind of conspiracy but there is only so much artistic license an artist can take before the image is completely wrong. Your thoughts?

All I can say is that I saw who started the thread, read the title quickly, and thought this was about Brown Jeans and how good they looked on the average metro dude.

The reluctance of some Christians to accept the likelihood that Jesus had dark skin reminds me of some conservatives who are reluctant to accept that the true Conservative presidential candidate they long for is Mormon.

I used to work at a greeting card company that sold a whole line of stationary with an African Jesus on it, the pictures always made me chuckle.

Still, though... does ANYONE try to make Jesus look realistic, that is to say, Semitic?
