Granted..there are probably several variables that account for the differences, however, quality of health care cannot be discounted as one of the most influential in those categories.

You don't think access to health care would have an effect on mortality and illness, eh?

I don't know about you, but when I'm injured and I think I've got something that might make me really sick or die, I go to a doctor. But I'm one of the lucky ones in this country who can afford health care. Except I couldn't on my sabbidical because of a precondition -- I was just lucky then not to get something that made me really sick or killed me.

are teh citizens of this fine repbulic to be consulted on every military applicant, because their pay, it seems according to you, is a govt freebie
see how silly that sounds now
there is a huge difference between somebody who works for the govt, and somebody who leeches off the govt teet, atleast to me there is
apples and oranges

Indeed.

If one stopped looking at the world through partisan-colored glasses, one might have noticed I'm on the same side as you on a few issues.

"Quality"?? I suspect the US has a higher "quality" of health care than Canada.

There was a lady from Canada on that 20/20 show who had breast cancer......She said her treatment in Canada would be free but she would have to wait 6 months for surgery and by that time she would be dead......She said she came to Seattle and paid the price for the surgery and that she is glad she paid it rather then be dead....

Oh, if you are comparing the plains of Sudan with Canada. Comparing the US to Canada I suspect, little to no effect.
