Since I've been accused recently of posting ridiculous posts, I thought I would post one, so these amateur barristers would not be liars.

The results are in from a new scientific study.

Once again science has confirmed what we already know: liberals and conservatives think differently. Neuroscientists at NYU and UCLA conducted a simple test on college students all along the political spectrum.

So now its been scientifically proven that liberals are smarter than conservatives. There's no point in gloating: conservatives don't recognize science, either. Just let them continue digging their own spider holes of fuzzy logic and dogmatic umbrage and come November '08 we can use our superior hand-eye coordination and letter-recognition skills to hit all the right letters.

Take note that this is from what some posters (including some mods and yours truly) think is a credible media outlet. Also note that this is NOT an "un-scientific poll," but a "scientific study". And finally note that I think this scientific study is total bull****!

The truth is that libs aren't smarter. Their fancy leads them to think they are. That's the problem.

I totally agree. I just thought it would be funny to vote "accurate".

The fact that the study being conducted is a "scientific study" does not mean that it proves what you/this hippie chick think it does.

The ability to quickly press either "m" or "w" on a keyboard has zero correlation to intelligence.

I do agree with you though that this does say something about the intelligence of these two groups - the fact that both you and Ms. Schickel appear to be oblivious to what this study actually indicates says quite a lot about the intelligence of liberals as compared to conservatives.

There are very smart and very dumb people on both sides we know this surely.

Intellectuals are sometimes the victims of there own intelligence.If you are intelligent you are use to being right and more often than not it makes it very hard for you to realise you are wrong.

While I don't think the scientific study prroves anything i still think that the conclusion is generally accurate.

Here's my very un-scientific theory.

Lets make the assumtion that people who go to college are generally smarter then people who don't.

Lets also make the assumtion that people who go to college generally make more money then people who don't.

It is a fact that the higher paying jobs are in the bigger cities.

Judging by the voter turnout it seems like the Liberal population is concentrated in the bigger cities while Conservative population seems to be spread out over the rural areas.(big shocker)

Therefore, one can come to the conclusion that your average everyday liberal is more educated then your average conservative.

Republicans are always accused of being rich people who don't care about poor people. I've also heard that the average Republican has more years of college than the average Democrat, not surprising since Republicans are also wealthier. You also forgot about all the poverty in the cities.

I have my own theory. It's not about which group is more intelligent. I just think that conservatives tend to be left brain people while liberals tend to be right brain people. Artists and writers always seem to be flaming liberals. When liberals hear about a government program that they like, they're automatically for it. They don't even want to know how much it's going to cost. They think with their emotions. When conservatives (not neocons) hear about a government program that has obvious benefits, they want to know how much it's going to cost so that they can weigh the cost vs the benefits. They think logically.
