But let's not get carried away. How many times are Dems called traitors and treasonous because they have challenged the Administration's actions?

When x-marine Murtha sold out the haditha marines its deserved.

When Obama says we airraid civillians its deserved

When Kucinich goes into the enemy country and badmouths the admin its deserved.

There are more......

Does not mean they all are of course, but some sur do deserve it.

There's little doubt that Bush handled the war poorly, but that doesn't guarantee that the Dems will win the White House and make gains in the 2008 Congressional elections. They still have a lot to gain from the war going poorly.

The flip side is the difference between being a new president and have an Iraq war that is winding down versus one that is in chaos.

Given the choice, I'm not sure I'd prefer the latter.

Your problem is you blame the president but what you forget he is not running in 2008.....

I don't disagree, though they will take some heat for it too. But that political gain is at the expense of inherenting a chaotic fiasco in Iraq with no easy way out, a lose lose proposition. Not a position any person would envy.

My post must not have been clear. The Dems may get some political gain from Iraq in chaos, but at the expense of the new president inhereting a major fiasco with no easy way out or solution. Not an enviable position at all and I'm not sure Id' think it is worth the temporary political benefit.

It was not smart and it was wrong. He's a soldier and a good one. Good soldiers follow orders and are loyal to the nth degree so how can anyone expect him, in the position that's he in to not state exactly what Bush wants him to say.

Moveon was wrong...but anyone who thinks his report was independent of the White House and their propaganda is also wrong.

However one thing an ad like this shows is that we are a thriving democracy that allows even fuc ked up comments a voice without fear of censor.

Dude, you're always wrong, never right, ever. You defy the odds of chance...I mean even a broken clock is right twice a day...something you never achieve.

You're a charter member of the Gang Of Five and probably it's weakest link because at the very least the other Gang members articulate their point view with paragraphs. You, on the other hand never write more than one sentence and half the words in every sentence are "My left wing friend".

I really do see a similarity between you and the George character on Seinfeld who needed to do the OPPOSITE of whatever his brain told him was right to finally get it right....

Re: Do the Democrats want to win the war in Iraq?

I am Democrat, that believes winning in Iraq is just conservative spin and imagination. Winning is not possible. there will never be a democratic ally in Iraq.

We are the nasty invaders. We attacked for no reason. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Are we fighting Al Quaeda or Iraqi freedom fighters?

Recently the media uses the word Al Quaeda, but only last month the word was insurgents rather than Al Quaeda.
How come we are still in Irag. I agree that since we invaded, caused all this religious, and political turmoil in Iraq, it is hard to leave with correcting some of the mess we caused. Yet the only real thing that we can do is get out and stop the Right Wing Culture of Lies, Deciet and Inuendos. The chips are going to have fall where they fall. We Americans are no longer the good guys in the world, and that is just an ancient cold war myth and myth from the last century.

Excuse me? Even if it was true, what does that say about the other 33 members of the coalition? Are they no longer "good guys" either?
