Furthermore, the NYCAASA website addresses many other false and damaging suggestions raised by Tallou and others on this thread and New Coup's Why are women bothered by rape thread, such as Tallou's pet fallacy about "women not knowing if they were raped or not", and Coup's suggestion that "women say they were raped to get attention".

I could post 14000+ links to reputable medical and psychiatric organizations, each claiming definitively and categorically that rape is not sex.

But wouldn't the effect be the same if you simply looked into it for yourself?

There is not a reputable medical, psychiatric, or psychological organization anywhere which supports the claim that "rape is sex", or "rape is about sex", or "rape is sometimes about sex" or 'there are two types of rape' or "college girls sometimes can't decide whether they've been raped or not'.

The onus of proof is actually on the perpetrators of these foul lies, since they are entirely against everything stated and claimed by the mainstream medical and psychological community.

Prove them. Tallou's rather feeble anecdote about having once worked at a rape hotline where women called up constantly not sure whether they'd been raped hardly constitutes "proof".

Provide proof- even one medical, sociological, psychiatric, or psychological link- to counter the thousands and thousands of links to reputable medical and psychological websites claiming that rape is not sex: link.

Provide one iota of evidence that there is a reputable medical, psychological, or psychiatric authority anywhere in the industrialized world who supports these preposterous claims of yours.
If not, then STFU. When you're reduced to busting out the Webster's and trying to play semantic games, you've been pwned beyond the point where you could've conceded gracefully, and you're merely making an enormous and embarrassing asshat of yourself.

I guess I should have phrased my argument better, so here goes: Rape is sexual intercourse. One of the definitions of sex is "sexual intercourse".

1) I realize that rape is a big deal.

2) I have not said anthing about what rape is "about". Perhaps I was not clear, I meant that the word "Sex" can be used in it's abbreviatory form (Sexual Intercourse) to describe rape. I think that the people at NYCAASA are talking about the motivations of rape, as is evidenced by their use of the word: "about".

Again, they are speaking about the difference in the motivations of rape and sex.

I acknowledge that there is a distinction here, but I think that they should have said "Loving/Caring Sex", because otherwise we get this sort of tiffle, were we seem to have confused our arguments.

Sex and violence are not mutually exclusive. Sex as I am using it is a verb (intercourse), and violence is an adverb.

As I just said, I believe that this web site should have distinguished more clearly between sex(ual intercourse) between lovers, and violent sex(ual intercourse).

I said two different things. In the beginning, I said that the thread should go to the sex and sexuality forum, but it was pointed out to me that rape is not about sex, and I conceded.

Now, I am responding to your statement that "Rape is not Sex", which is a mechanical statement as opposed to a psychological one.
