I don't see why you're getting so flustered about some shirts.
It said Intifada NYC, that means rebellion in NYC, not rebellion against culture context is everything, the shirts don't say Intifada against U.S. culture it says Intifada NYC. Not to mention that this woman has connections to Hamas, so when you have a woman with connections to Hamas endorsing an Intifada in NYC it is quite clear what the message is.

Again, she stated she wasn't using it literally but figuratively as a rebellion against "pop culture" as thousands before her have done.
Al-Taqiyya bull****, this lady has connections to Hamas, these shirts were calling for a rebellion in NYC not for a rebellion against "pop culture," quit being so naive.

How'd you get this out of that quote?
"I'm saying that the American rebellion against the British was an intifada." sounds to me like you think that calling for a revolution against the U.S. government is on par and just as acceptable as calling for a rebellion against the U.S. government if not then why did you bring up the U.S. revolution?

Quote:
And it depends on what you mean by "rebellion". If you mean it figuratively as she did, then yes, of course I do. If you mean it literally, then certainly not.

Yes, I did. It is a word that can be used in many ways and doesn't have to imply a literally violent uprising. Such as how rock n' roll was a "revolution in music". Or how punk rock was a "rebellion against society". Or what about rebellious teenagers? They aren't literally going out and revolting against the government.
Bull****, in this context the term "intifada" is more than clear so please keep your bull**** al-Taqiyya to yourself, the fact that this woman has ties to Hamas proves beyond the shadow of a doubt what these t-shirts mean, she is calling on the Arab community to begin an intifada in NYC, this is a call for violent action, and she and her group need to be put under immediate surveillance. By your logic it would be perfectly acceptable to make t-shirts which read: "We need a final solution to the Muslim Problem." Oh, but 'final solution' has a variety of meanings, wink wink nudge nudge.

Re: NYC Principal at Center of 'Intifada' T-Shirt Controversy Resigns

I think we can both agree that "to rebel" doesn't necessarily mean that one is going to pick up a gun and start shooting.

Other than that, neither of us are going to budge, as we both have different opinions and suspicions about the motives behind this woman.

TOT really doesn't "budge" so much as mosey off to another thread to be obstinate on another topic, so good choice.

I agree with Khayembii, and the woman has also justified her involvement by stating that the "rebellion" doesn't mean armed lesser jihad, it means a social rebellion.

We are entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts, this woman has ties to Hamas so the message on those t-shirts given the context is clear.

But hay if you want to play your Orwellian newspeak games with me feel free, but just so you know I'm not buying the al-Taqiyya bull****.
