Obama solicits La Raza backing

Another reason to not vote for Obama.A politician soliciting racist and proillegals for votes.

Obama solicits La Raza backing*-*Nation/Politics*-*The Washington Times, America's Newspaper
Quote:
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Sen. Barack Obama told the nation's largest Hispanic advocacy group yesterday that he earned their support for his presidential campaign by marching in last year's May 1 immigrant rallies and challenged them to learn whether others met that standard.

"Find out how many senators appeared before an immigration rally last year. Who was talking the talk, and who walked the walk — because I walked," Mr. Obama said at the National Council of La Raza's annual convention in Miami Beach. "I didn't run away from the issue, and I didn't just talk about it in front of Latino audiences."

The Illinois Democrat said the recent Senate immigration debate "was both ugly and racist in a way we haven't see since the struggle for civil rights."

Re: Obama solicits La Raza backing

For those who are unaware of this umbrella group, you can read up here:

- HUMAN EVENTS

"La Raza" means "The race", ie hispanics, and among its goals is the reconquista, that is, annexing the US southwest as part of mexico. The main method to accomplish this is to overrun the US southwest with millions of illegal aliens, to create a fait accompli. I wish some of you could see what its like in southern california now - almost mexico already.

Here are some corporate sponsors of La Raza (no kidding!). People who doubt that corporate america is now a liberal lap dog should check this out:

So I don't want to vote for someone who wants to make all the illegals in this country "legal", and I don't want to vote for someone who is not willing to get out of Iraq.

Guess that limits my options to NO ONE

I'm trying to remeber what your criticisms where when the Bushes kissed up to the Hispanic crowd in Florida in the last couple of elections.

Many of your criticisms of La Raza are based on the assertions of Republican Congressman Charlie Norwood, whose claims have already been refuted. I love how you just list them as if they are undeniable facts.

If by Hispanic Crowd you mean banana boat Cubans* who came into this country illegally(over 700,000 of them). Yes I completely agree. Nobody even talked about that little fact back then. Now all the sudden courting crooked organizations like the Cuban-American League and La Raza is a problem.

* Banana boat Cubans : Look up Marielitos. Over 700,000 Cubans came into this country illegally. Much like Haitians and Costa Ricans do. However unlike Haitians and Costa Ricans they were allowed to stay.

Quote:
Under the euphuism 'Hispanic Homeland' and 'Nation of Aztlan,' activists from numerous organizations including Mexican American Legal Defense and La Raza (The Race) activists are attempting to annex large portions of SW United States to Mexico. "Republica del Norte," the Republic of the North, which would include the present U.S. states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, plus southern Colorado, along with several current Mexican states, is "an inevitability" says Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico. He further states the new "Hispanic Homeland" should be brought into being "by any means necessary."

The Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and the National Immigration Forum (NIF) whose names imply grassroots organizations reflecting the will of American Hispanics, do not represent mainstream American Hispanic opinion. Rather, they speak only in their own best interests, favoring the mass immigration that gives them more constituents they can then profess to represent. Polls show that Hispanic-Americans, like all Americans, support stronger enforcement of our immigration laws.

A 'Hispanic Homeland' could be written off as the work of extremists were it not for wide-spread support by Mexicans. A June 2002 Zogby poll of Mexicans found that a substantial majority of Mexican citizens believe that southwestern America is rightfully the territory of Mexico and that Mexicans do not need the permission of the U.S. to enter. The poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "The territory of the United States' southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Zogby said 28 percent disagreed, while another 14 percent said they weren't sure.
La Raza has made Reconquista part of there mission. How can you deny this.

Courting the La Raza is just like the Republicans courting the Religious Right and/or the KKK. Its just another narrow minded racist, radical group just to get votes. Shame I did like Obama's stance on education.

You may wish to check out this page:

http://www.nclr.org/content/viewpoints/detail/42500/

You'll find this particular bit interesting:

Quote:
Norwood Condition 2: Denounce the statement "For La Raza to do [sic]. Fuera de La Raza nada" [“For the community everything, outside the community nothing”] as repugnant, racist, and totally incompatible with American society or citizenship.

NCLR Response: NCLR’s published response to Rep. Norwood’s April 10 Human Events article states, in pertinent part:

…while it is difficult to repudiate something we’ve never been for, we want to make very clear that, …NCLR has never supported and does not endorse the notion of a “Reconquista” or “Aztlán,” and has never used, and unequivocally rejects, the motto “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada.” In fact, NCLR and its Affiliates work every single day in a number of ways including providing English classes and supporting naturalization efforts to help integrate immigrants into American society.

What a laugh! La Raza and their sub-groups are extremely well known in california, I've read, listened, and seen them for years - they are just as I've described.
