As for me, I think I'd rather trade my voice for all my vision. I'd be mute, but I'd be able to see and do everything except speak. So if I had a choice, I'd choose mute. What about y'all? |

I'd choose for my self being deaf, for the same reasons

I would feel naked in sandals - but otherwise I'll toughen it out. Walking down the street kids will stare at me. As I pass I will hear their mom lecture them on how it isn't nice to stare at freaks. |

It would be funny to mess around with people with it too. Of course I could wear like a fake hand or something but once in a while it'd be fun to bring out the ole hook.
I just don't want to think of the accident that would cause such a handicap..... |

I have these rather introverted, reclusive tendencies anyway- I like to read, write, play with my computer, and basically live like a hermit to the extent that it's possible (it's not very possible, since I work full time and then come home to an apartment occupied by three other people besides myself).
I don't like any sort of noise. I have ADD. Noise bothers me. I hate television. I don't even like music; I used to, but at some point (can't really remember when) I began to find all music annoying.
I don't even have audio on my computer.
I don't like to talk much, either. I only like to write.
Anyway, being deaf would justify and excuse all these idiosyncrasies of mine, plus I'd probably qualify for unemployment, so I could quit working and stay home and have time to write a novel.
So, that's the handicap I'd pick.
