Translation: 26 X World Champs is celebrating an overtly partisan miscarriage of justice because the victim was on the other side. If McCarthyism wasn't a myth, I'd accuse you of it.

This is exactly the sort of case the Presidential pardon was created for.

A White House aide just got sent to prison for having testimony that clashed with a partisan Democrat operative with a history of memory issues (NO OTHER EVIDENCE), with an underlying crime that someone else (anti-war Bush opponent Dick Armitage) admitted committing, which wasn't even actually a crime according to the statute (requires proof of malicious intent, among other things).

That'll teach Republicans to refute the lies of their opponents.

Funny but I see it as one of America's top officials lied to a grand jury to protect the Vice President from being accused. He CHOSE to lie and he was caught, indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced.

Whether he gets pardoned or not is almost moot. Libby is one of the slimiest political neocon hacks this country has ever produced and there is great satisfaction in knowing that what goes around comes around and that his life will be forever scarred by his own actions, actions that hurt so many Americans and that undermine the very foundation this country was built upon.

I also love that it makes you so crazy Aquapub You're left to praying for a pardon as your only recourse but even if he's pardoned he will always be a convicted bastard...that will never change...he got what he deserved...and whether others do or do not has no bearing on his individual case...he lied and was convicted in a fair trial...live with it or hop a plane to somewhere where people like Libby use their influence and money to get away with lying to grand juries....

Why should he bother? It's never going to change his opinion. Facts are moot as far as he's concerned. His teammate got nailed and he's more loyal to his teammate than he is to justice and his country....that is the bottom line....IMHO.

Based off the crap Aquapub spews sometimes (well... most of the time) on here, I completely agree. Libby deserves jailtime, just like Jefferson deserves jailtime. Why Aqua is making this a partisan debate I don't know.

A scumbag politician is a scumbag politician, whether he is right, left, Democrat, Republican, white, black, purple, or gold.

Probably but again, to me, that does not matter. Prison time is the icing on the cake....the conviction is what matters to me most because he and his cronies always feel above the law. The system they tried to abuse instead swept him up and is making him pay for his crimes. That is how it works. Prison time would be nice but just making Bush have to pardon him is also OK because it adds to the Bush "legacy" of cronyism before country and justice...
