Carter says Bush is a the worst president ever

Bush is obviously a flawed president in a lot of ways... I don't think even the most die hard supporter would disagree upon that point.

But for Jimmy Carter of all people to say he's the worst ever is frankly intolerable. Carter is himself regarded as one of the worst presidents ever... in fact, many consider him to be the worst. It's hard to find a single thing he did right during his whole presidency... i'm sure even the worst critics of bush could find ONE thing he did right. And yet carter has the unbelievable gall to claim that Bush is the worst? Never mind that this is a breech of presidential stoicism... in that it's rare for an ex president to attack a standing president in such base and disrespectful terms.

But I suppose Carter is trying to repair his legacy before he dies... he wrote a book that didn't help it any and now he's making these silly statements that just make him sound that much more like a desperate old man clawing for one last shot at a fond memory.

the above you'll either be familiar with and agree with or be ignorant of and therefore have an unpredictable opinion... in any event, I'll provide this link to a rant by Christopher hitchens largely because it's funny.

Had it not been for Herr Bush, Carter would have been the worst president ever. He should be thanking Mr. Bush.

the fact that you refer to bush to hitler frankly speaks very poorly for your position on this...

It's a little like saying "I love this restaurant, there aren't any jews here"

Ah well... the article is funny, read it if you want a laugh.

The Israel/Egyptian peace agreement, and the appointment of Vokler to the Fed to lick inflation were two significant achievements that come to the top of my mind.

this pathetic post isn't an argument. why is Carter wrong? never mind that, you've spoken almost entirely ABOUT Carter. just as the White House did when it replied. ad hominems, all the way.

and this is hardly a breach of "presidential stoicism." Eisenhower criticized Kennedy. Ford (posthumously) criticized Bush. Nixon criticized Bush. Bush criticized Clinton.

I would add the Carter Doctrine.

Links?

And giving you the benefit of the doubt until those links make their way to mine eyes I will say that IF these criticisms did take place they were NOT nearly as bold, bitchy and biting as those by the former nuclear sub skipper. (This astounds me still!)

dude, of course. I (and millions of others) are astounded when a President can be as bad as GWB. you're astounded when someone says as much. the emperor has no clothes. so the subject, to you, becomes not the emperor, it becomes the messenger, as well as those whom said similar things.

if your astonishment were not obstacle enough, there's also this bit about simple history, accessible to anyone whom is at all curious.

Quote:
James Garfield remarked that he could never decide whether Ulysses Grant's amazing imperturbability was proof of his greatness or his stupidity. Grant returned the compliment when he said Garfield lacked the backbone of an angleworm, because he failed to keep his promise to retain certain Grant supporters on the federal payroll.

Theodore Roosevelt called William Howard Taft, a man he had handpicked as his 1908 successor, "a puzzlewit" and a "fathead" when he ran against him in 1912. Taft thought Roosevelt, in his disregard for the Constitution, "not unlike Napoleon."

These epithets were mild compared to the beating Teddy gave Woodrow Wilson for his three-year long hesitation to join the Allies in World War I. TR compared him to James Buchanan, whose passivity had let the country drift into the Civil War. TR mocked Wilson's fondness for abstract principles, calling him "a Byzantine logothete." Wilson did not like Teddy very much either. "I am told he no sooner thinks than he talks, which is a miracle not wholly in accord with an educational theory of forming an opinion," Wilson said. He had an even lower opinion of his successor, Warren Harding: "A fool of a president."

...

Ike's opinion of Lyndon Johnson was even lower. He considered him "superficial and opportunistic," without "the depth of mind [or] the breadth of vision to handle great responsibility." He totally disapproved of his handling of the Vietnam War. Ike condemned "acting in driblets" and Johnson's constant interference with his military commanders.

Dwight Eisenhower thought John F. Kennedy's showbiz friends such as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis sullied the dignity of the White House. He was even more appalled by Kennedy's deficit spending. Ike frequently repeated the old saw: "You can always tell a Harvard man but you can't tell him much."

Ford "very strongly" disagreed with the current president's justifications for invading Iraq and said he would have pushed alternatives, such as sanctions, much more vigorously, the Post's Bob Woodward wrote. The story initially was posted on the newspaper's Internet site.

Even former President Nixon criticized Bush for being too timid in helping to consolidate democracy and markets in Russia.

GHWB criticizing Clinton, take your pick:

"Bush criticized Clinton" - Google Search

Is there any evidence to support the opinion of Carter? let's not talk about that. let's talk about Carter's character and refuse to believe that any other former president could have criticized a current one.

Criticized and what carter has made it his business to do for decades are two different things.

As to why i'm focusing on carter... that would be because he's throwing HIS title on someone else.

As for reasons... his handling of middle east is in large part why we have all the problems there that we do now.

That all by itself is enough. Say what you like about bush but he didn't cause these problems... consider what feel apart on carter's watch and what he did to fix it? Jack ****.

The fool is an ultra religious pacifist. Such a person has no business being commander and chief of a world super power.

Seriously, don't be retarded. Defending carter is stupid. Period. It's right up there with defending nixon. Just stupid.

in the above quote we learn more about how much Karmashock generally despises Carter, and how Karmashock endeavors to insult anyone whom disagrees with Karmashock regarding what Carter has said.

true to fashion, again, no argument has been presented which refute Carter's claims.

and there it is.
