LAPD shoot at and beat the **** out of Peaceful May Day Protestors
May Day marks the anniversary of the Haymarket Riots in which workers and laborers in the US gathered to stand for better rights, wages, and livlihood in exchange for all they produced and continued to produce and create for society. The protestors were attacked by police and many were slaughtered. Today the police serve a very similiar purpose despite the material changes that have occured in the past 121 years since Haymarket
International Worker's Day, kicked off with protests and rallies by workers, farmers, immigrants, communists, and unionists all over the world. Here in the states, the theme was legalization and better rights and wages for ALL workers.
In Los Angles, the police responded to these demands through brutality, shooting protestors and beating journalists with billy clubs.

Welcome to Los Angeles.
Although there are many good police officers, unfortunately the department here is plauged with a large number of thugs who are nothing more than gang members with a badge.
The sad thing is that the District Attorney's office here turns a blind eye to it. There are officers who have hundreds of complaints against them and the prosecutors do nothing to investigate their veracity.
Combine this with the "Code of Silence" in which good officers will not speak out against corrupt officers because they feel that they have to remain silent.
Its sad because I think Chief Bratton really would like to reform the force here. It is getting more and more difficult to get good officers to join because of the bad reputation that the department has.
Again...I think that there are more good Officers than bad ones. However, this type of thing just shows how the mentality of the cops can get out of control.
True...there was likely an element that was provoking the cops and causing problems. The problem is...like poking a dog, sooner or later its going to attack. And the officers here showed a complete lack of discretion in handling the situation appropriately. They took their aggression out on peaceful citizens.
I've seen even worse footage here in LA, footage where the police approach a young male who is obviously not one causing a problem and start hitting him with their clubs in the back of his legs. He was simply standing there observing what was going on.

No it doesn't. In fact, the Haymarket Square riots happened a couple of days after May Day. the May Day protests in Chicago went on for several days after May Day, culminating in the riots.
The May Day holiday we recognize today was created by Socialists, with an intent to celebrate workers, their accomplishments, and also as a platform for seeking better working conditions. May Day was later made a holiday by various Communist governments. Actually, May Day itself was originally a Pagan holiday, featuring a fertility rite, which incorporated a device we know as the maypole. What we know today as May Day was originally part of a practice known as phallus worship.

Better hold off the judgement. The police had been attacked, some protestors urged others to retaliate, the protest spilled over onto amajor blvd interferring with traffic and the police rightfully moved in to dispearse it. The reporter in the film should have moved when ordered, the photographer should have moved when ordered but fell over backwards disobeying the police. Other shots clearly show people refusing to obey the police. The police claim and there is no evidence otherwise at this point they used bull horns, seen and heard in the video, and that three helocopters were broadcasting for the crowd to dispearse.
What should have happened is that the illegals there should have been arrested.

Lefty, you are a habitual violator of BN rules. Don't be surprised at the consequences.

I don't want to say "typical", but police have been known to be overzealous during protests from time to time. It's something to watch for because it is important to know when abuse of power is demonstrated so that those guilty can be punished/fired.

werd but like you said, the actual riots were due to culminating tensions during the may day protest. Sorta like the Toledo Riots in 2005, the neo-nazis were just leaving as the protestors grew frustrated at how the cops were siding with the nazis.
May Day is basically the day which was assigned for years following this, up until the Knights of Labor changed it to september I think. Also contemporary Worker's May day is not related to the pagan holiday.

Better hold off the judgement. The police had been attacked,
because those police are the same people who storm the homes of immigrant families in the dead of night and drag families members away splitting up families. According to the mayor of one town where this was common "like what you read about from Nazi Germany".
Also, those police were bullying protestors and come to peaceful protests with teargas machine guns, batons, etc.. I would hardly trust FOX on this, I've had similiar experience with the cops at protests and they'll jump on anything. For example, one time the cops arressted my friend and beat several protestors on the grounds of "jaywalking".
And lets say the police were attacked, they then attacked a ****ing peaceful demonstration with rubber bullets and batons attacking journalists and mocking them as well as people with stands.
The way this system works is that if the protest becomes heard by people or anything like that, the police reserve the right to whoop out their "democracy" on the protestors.

You really think now painting them as Nazi is any way convinces anyone to your position? It actually shows it's weakness.

Actually they were breaking up a protest that had gotten out of hand was starting to block citizens from going about their private lawful buiness and was being incited to a riot by a group of them who had attacked the police already.

I really don't put a lot of weight into your bias'd antecdotal stories.

And lets say ..................
Let's just say the facts as we know them.
The people were told to dispease, in each of the videos I saw of the results the particular people in question did not. Here's a clue for all the illegal aliens, in this country if the police tell you move, DO IT. If you don't you might get hit by a rubber bullet or a rubber baton or tear gas, which is better than most countries but can hurt none the less.
