"Why I gave Ron Paul $100"

This is the name of the article that a man named Michael Hampton penned. What he did was offer $100.00 to Ron Paul's campaign if 99 others did so. Now he is offering another $200.00 if 199 do so.

The reason? The Republicrats, of course. Hillary will most likely get the Democratic nod, and is the GOP going to field a Conservative against her? No way. Ron Paul's candidacy is strictly grass roots. The Republican machine wants no Conservative to run - They are supporting RINO's with track records that are anything but Conservative. They have sold out the soul of the Party for candidates who can outliberal the Liberals on Social issues, and who favor big spending, big police state governments over ones which behave responsibly with not only our money, but with our civil liberties as well. It is time for REAL Conservatives step up to the plate and favor 1 of 2 scenarios:

    1) Support a REAL Conservative, for a change, and if you don't, then don't have the gall to call yourself a Conservative - You are NOT. You are a betrayer of Conservatism, which is worse than being a Liberal. Be proud of your new mascot, and stop lying to yourself and everyone else:

    2) If the GOP refuses to live up to it's legacy, and someone like Giuliani, or one of the other RINOs, gets the nomination, then do NOT vote Republican next year. Let the Democrats take the election. The result? The GOP is destroyed, and then is forced by the people who didn't vote for them to rebuild according to what IS EXPECTED of them by Conservatives. And face it - How long do you think the Democrats will actually hold power? Not long, as long as a new Republican party, instilled with the values it once had, which are American values, returns to what it once stood for. If you can't do what it is going to take to restore Conservative values to the Republican party, then don't have the gall to call yourself a Conservative - You are NOT. You are a betrayer of Conservatism, which is worse than being a Liberal. Be proud of your new mascot, and stop lying to yourself and everyone else:

If the Republican party cares about elections more than the core values they have traditionally stood for, then it is no longer the Republican party, and the GOP no longer deserves our hearts and minds - Not until they wake up and finally begin to listen to us - the Goldwater/Reagan voters who gave them their power in the first place. Yes, we gave them that power, and we can also take away that power if we choose to do so, as long as the party continues to cynically take us for granted, and continues to play its political fake patriot games instead of doing what is in the best interests of America and the American people. Frankly, we deserve better - Much better.

    Article is here.

I completely disagree, I think these "You have to play the game" career politicians are the problem, and Ron Paul is a breathe of fresh air. I think he would make the changes that need to be made, he would then become extremely unpopular, and the country will next elect a politician who "Plays the game." But the country will be better off at that point IMO.
At the root of every civilized achievement, such as science, technology, progress, freedom--at the root of every value we enjoy today, including the birth of this country--you will find the achievement of one man, who lived over two thousand years ago: Aristotle.
