Mississippi passes what-if abortion bill - Yahoo! News

I don't even know what to comment on this. I do agree though that every state should set it's own laws but come on. Those woman would just go to the state next door and have a safe, legal procedure done.

Abortion is a state issue.

This will end up in the SCOTUS and hopefully this barbaric law that has killed 47,000,000 innocent babies in the womb will be overturned and the abortion issue will go back to the states where it belongs..........I just hope I live long enough to see abortions that are performed as a means of birth control or convenience are no longer legal....

Don't get me wrong, if the mother's life is endangered I think and abortion is appropriate

It's because we didn't restrict the courts enough.

Its because a very liberal SCOTUS in 1972 passed a bad law......Even justices on the left have said so........

And the Christian Republic of America gets closer and closer..

Next on the agenda, banning divorce. After that refusing women the vote, and basic rights... go go religious fanatics!

It's because there aren't so many restrictions on the power of the court, it's the smallest section in the US Constitution. I don't think the founders really envisioned this sort of judicial activism which eventually developed in this country. Back then, if judges made decisions which were unpopular with the populace, they were simply ran out of town. There are a lot of things we need to fix with our government, and one of the big ones is to further restrict the court's power.

I'm sure they never envisioned the courts doing their job as being termed "judicial activism".

The courts were designed as they are so that judges could make unpopular decisions without worrying about retaliation from an angry populace. Judges decide what is constitutional, not what is popular.

Yeah, it is just TOO bad we have courts to guarantee FOR EVERYONE each individual's constitutional rights. {{SARCASM}}
