Merely by stating that humans are solely to blame for Global warming and for this theory to be backed up by supposedly learned scientists, without any opposing views being addressed is really not the way to go.

(Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human- induced—cause, according to one scientist's controversial theory.)
Quote
( Abdussamatov believes that changes in the sun's heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.)
So do we all blindly accept the viewpoint of some guy who is unable to correctly spell the word 'Potato' or do we listen to all viewpoints? |

Who the hell are you to present facts and other theories when the environmental religion is based of junk science and condemnation of mankind (mostly American)? |

So do we all blindly accept the viewpoint of some guy who is unable to correctly spell the word 'Potato' or do we listen to all viewpoints? | You're confused. The former vice-president who was unable to spell potato was Republican Dan Quayle. Dan Quayle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"His most famous blunder was when he corrected student William Figueroa's correct spelling of "potato" as "potatoe" at an elementary school spelling bee in Trenton, New Jersey, on June 15, 1992."

You are giving us liberal trolls a bad name! Stop it! |

You are giving us liberal trolls a bad name! Stop it! | Was that an attack? I thought it was just a gentle pointing out of error. As
jujuman13 himself was trying to say, if you are in error on one thing, we cannot trust your statements on other things. |

Current Mood: | Re: Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says Those who point to Mars as evidence that the current global warming trend on Earth is entirely natural never cease to make me laugh. As I pointed out in another thread, the atmosphere on Mars is 95.72% Carbon Dioxide. I've also pointed out the fact that the climate change on Mars is limited to it's South Pole. In otherwords, the warming on Mars is REGIONAL not global. |

Current Mood: | Re: Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says Do you think it's just human nature, this desire to avert blame and shift responsibility?
If it's not our fault, then we don't have any responsibility to do anything about it.
We don't have to change anything.
I understand the appeal, and I'm not saying my motivations are beyond reproach any more than anyone else's, but I'm more compelled by fear at this point than laziness. I want to make changes and see if we can't halt or at least slow down this impending global disaster. i'm ready to make changes, to make sacrifices. i want to.
And that's regardless of whether it's "our fault" or not, regardless of whether it will even help, in the long run.
It would make me feel better just to be doing something, taking some positive action.
Nothing makes me feel worse than all this sitting around second-guessing whether global warming is 1) really happening, and 2) our fault or the result of some factor beyond our control, and 3) reversible.
Let's just come up with a plan- encourage our legislators to come up with a plan- and for sh!t sake do something already.
