Gore just scored a knockout over the Republican Party's smearmeister. Drudge, of course, proceeded to smear Gore as a hypocrite, and of course, the FOX Noise Channel picked up on it. The facts are actually the following:

1) Gore only buys green power, that is, power that is not produced by fossil fuels. He pays more per kwh for that power than he would with fossil fuels through a company called Green Power Switch.

2) A lot of the power at the Gore home comes from solar panels. Drudge failed to mention that too, didn't he?

3) Finally, Gore purchases offsets, another thing Drudge did not mention.

Sorry, Swiftboaters. There is nothing there for you. Think about what you are going to whine about next.

A) So what, does that mean that he gets to use 20 times the national average? I mean if he wasn't using all that electricty it could be spread out to 20 different families.

B) He is installing them they are not yet installed, regardless he uses 20 times the electricity of the national average solar panels aren't going to do much for that and this is just one of his homes.

C) That is a way for him to buy off his guilt and what offsets is he purchasing some of them are pretty much worthless:

Where did I say that?

Again that is just one of his homes, and regardless that energy would go to other families if Gore wasn't using it, so that electricty is going to have to be replaced with non-renewable energy sources to make up for all the renewable energy he uses which is 20 times the national average.

Seems you still don't understand. Its not about electricity, but where the electricity comes from. If he is buying his electricity from companies which do not use sources which cause global warming, then he is actually practicing what he preaches, isn't he? Remember, this is about global warming, not electricity. Nice try though. Like I said in the first post, you guys need to find something else to whine about.

Again that electricity could be used to power 20 homes, if he is using all of it that's 19 homes that could have been powered by renewable energy but are not because Gore uses 20 times the national average, just because it's renewable doesn't mean you don't have to conserve it.

Not true. All the other 20 hypothetical families have to do is switch to the same company Gore is using. The reason they aren't is obvious. Green power costs more.

There aren't enough renewable energy resources for Gore to squander as he is doing, and again this is just one of his homes and that isn't taking into account his private jets, his entourage's SUV and Limousine usage.

Pretty desperate of you to keep trying to find dirt on Gore. All you can come up with is what Drudge, the Moonies, and FOX Noise Channel are parroting.

1) Fact - Gore and his wife both office at their home, meaning they are using green power instead of renting an office and using fossil fuels.

2) Drudge counts electricity used by solar panels - Very dishonest.

3) Gore is using 100 percent green power, which means that, despite the amount of electricity he is using, he is leaving zero carbon footprint. That means that Gore is not contributing to global warming.

4) Oh yea, you had to bring up the old limosine bit by Drudge and the Moonies, which further erodes what little credibility you have left. The limo was a hybrid, which uses less gasoline and more hydrogen. Duh......
