You know what happens to those tree in the end? Some big logging company comes along and buys the rights to log the track of land........lol

these carbon credits as they are called are nothing more than people who are energy hogs like Gore feeling bad because their wealth and usage.....go and buy other peoples unused energy credits.......so because they are rich....they use their wealth not only to use more than their share but have to buy unused energy from other people just to feel better about their piggish usage.......

Why does it matter how much Gore uses? Because being a typical hypocrite liberal he is....he preaches conservation for everyone else yet can use as much energy...green or not....as he damn well pleases........if he was so worried about consumption...why does he heat his pool 12 months a year or live in a smaller home?

And like others have stated....only a ******* fool believes that Tenn has put Gore on his own power grid.....but as I see, that is a given when dealing with liberals and so called conservatives......

Second of all please read how green energy works and find out how Gore gets his electricity. You'll understand things alot better. Nobody here has even claimed Gore is on his own power grid.

Third of all he preaches conservation when it comes to how we use energy that leaves a carbon footprint. Energy that is renewable such as that derived from natural oils, wind power and solar power have no effect on the environment period.

Wrong.

NONE of his power comes from solar...some will AFTER the solar installation is complete, but none does now.

Any wind power he uses is not included in the NES (Nashville Electric Service) useage the article was based on. His NES useage, 20 times the average home, is 100% carbon based. If he has wind now, it's over and above what he pulls off the grid, as will be his solar useage when his solar system is complete.

On top of all of this is his regular use of private jet transportation, multiple residences, etc.

Gore talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk...get over it.

How is this surprising? Another conservative passing himself of as an independent and claiming that Al Gore said he invented the internet. Once again I am force to rectify this dishonest claim by conservatives and the like.

Seriously though, he IS being listened to, and that is important. Although he would never be my choice for president, global warming IS important, and Gore's input on this has been helpful in getting that message across. Call Gore what you want, but 2 Oscars don't mean that nobody is listening.
