FOX News total listeners...continuously rising.

Listeners specific to Hannity and Cholmes...going up.

Listeners specific to O'Reilley...same.

Rush Limbaugh audience...slight continual gain, though statistically insignificant...but hardly a loss.

Now, as to why folks like O'Reilley, Hannity and Cholmes, Rush, Boortz, etc continue to do well and increase their audience, while Air America and all the other liberal attempts fail, the answer is easy...they know that first and foremost, they have to be entertaining, else folks won't watch/listen and they won't be able to sell ads. Basically, liberals are just too damn sour and aren't pleasant to listen to even when making a decent point...so...not fun to listen to equals failure. Conservative pundits get that...libs don't.

Actually you're right it is great entertainment. Its easy to see why these Fox programmes have been doing so well over the years. After all proper debate and meticulous journalism is in all fairness boring, especially to the fast moving American public working 9 to 5. If you can jazz up the screen a bit, pretend that every news item is an exciting wake up call to arms, play to the most basic predjudices and and avoid real debate it makes the thing so much more entertaining.
I can see that even from here in Britain.

Actually it isn't which is why the conservative radio succeeds.
Actually that is why AA is failing, they avoid real debate and misrepresent the issues in order to appeal to the emotions of it's radical leftest audience.

Certainly more than AA, that's why it has been an overwhelming success while AA continues to fail. It's a mix of informative discussion and good humor as opposed to liberal emotional diatribes and whining attempts at humor.
