The government does it all the time! In fact with our new congress I expect it to get much worse. Certainly if the government can raise my taxes because they want to do "nice things" for poor folk surely they can come up with a creative way to rob this a$$hole.

What amount of money can ever repay someone who has been subjected to a sexual attack?

With the number of Sexual predatory attacks committed in the US linked to the number of times a sexual predator wins a Lottery, I doubt very much whether any victim in particular would receive very much cash.

That is the most unfair assessment of someone's statement I think I have ever seen. Clever way to twist reasonable logic into something that it absolutely was not.

There have been cases already where civil penalties were paid for criminal acts. The Catholic Church comes to mind. I totally agree with NP...that kind of windfall does not belong in the hands of a sexual predator. It should be passed along to the victims of that offender's actions.

While it is true that the government does most often work to rob the people (and this is across political boundaries, both the main parties do this), I don't think the point is "well the government does it to normal people so they should most definitely take this guy's money". The government shouldn't come up with a way to rob this dude just because he won the lottery, nor should the government work in ways to take money from the rest of us either. This guy has already been sentenced and served his time. Winning the lottery is nothing more than dumb luck and just because this time it so happened to fall upon a child predator doesn't mean that we should work in a manner to take the money from him. With any luck, perchance he can use this money to move somewhere secluded and becomes a threat to no one else.

He may have served his sentence but he is not cured and the little kids he raped and sodomized will mever get over that for the rest of their life.....It is obvious you have never had children nor been involved with a family whose child has been violated in the most obscene way...There is no price to high for this scum to pay the victums.........

What kind of law are you proposing? Are you thinking maybe making it part of a person's debt to society to be taxed at a higher rate (getting progressively higher rate much faster than the regular code)? Making it a law that they should never be able to collect the winnings of any kind of gambling for themselves? What about inheriting large amounts of money?

I am just curious, not critical. I am trying to see if there is a proposal I could agree with. I am afraid they might use such monies to enable them to be more secretive and successful at perpetrating against future victims without getting caught.

I am for whatever it takes to help the victums of sexual abuse especially children......I don't know how to make it any clearer to you and I am shocked how you and kelzie can sympasize with the scum of the earth.....If it was up to me you would lock that scum up and throw away the key....The death penalty might even suffice..........

Umm, that defeats the entire purpose of having a lottery: A voluntary tax to raise revenue for the state. People would simply not participate in the lottery at all if they couldn't win any money, which means the rest of us have to pay more NON-voluntary taxes.
