Question Vote for Atheists?

Would you vote for an Atheist running for president? How about a lower position, such as a VP or Congressperson? Why or why not?

Yes to all of the above. I can't think of a reason why I wouldn't.

Yes, and in some cases, I'd almost prefer it.

Re: Vote for Atheists?

Yes, I would. Religion doesn't necessarily make someone ethical just as its absence doesn't necessarily make one unethical. It's a non-issue.

No, I could not vote an Atheist for President.

Yes, I could vote for an Atheist in a lower position in the US government.

***First off, no atheist would ever run for president, although with this latest influx of liberal sectarians we see...anything's possible, I suppose. You do realize that atheism made up most of the ideology of the former Communist Soviet Union. But since Christianity is responsible for introducing science, reason, and capitalism into our American culture--I would say that an atheist wouldn't get my vote.

Re: Vote for Atheists?

There is no way I would ever vote for an atheist, those people have no moral values. Hell, an atheist would gut you like a fish just as soon as look at you.

Responsible for reason...oh, like the salem witch trials. Yes, no one has ever started wars and slaughtered people in the name of god.

Yes, I would vote for an atheist.

What science has Christianity offered? Just because a scientist happens to be labeled Christian does not mean his/her religion had anything to do with his/her research.

Capitalism i will agree with. The Christian church is the first and biggest bank in the world. They also funded the idea of corporations.

Reason is debatable just like science. The founding father's were not very religious people and on many accounts can be quoted as religion being more of a burden then anything.

No I would not, he's an atheist.

A Buddhist? Sure.
A Muslim? Sure.
A Humanist? No.
An Atheist? No.
A Catholic? Sure.
A Jew? Sure.

Why?
Because I oppose Atheism/Humanism....so of coarse I would not cast a vote giving them power.
