Wonder what the typical Iraqi citizens reaction will be like when Saddam's death sentence is actually carried out? Will Iraq explode? Will the execution be televised?

I myself won't shed a tear for Saddam but I'm sure many so called 'Christians' here on this forum and in the country will dance and cheer as if they genuinely cared, they will be fulfilled because their leader (Prresident Bush) will have have been fulfilled, alas President Bush can direct another "Mission Acomplished" banner to be hung somewhere in the White House for him to stand under.








Court: Execute Saddam within 30 days - Yahoo! News

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's highest appeals court on Tuesday upheld Saddam Hussein's death sentence and said he must be hanged within 30 days for the killing of 148 Shiites in the central city of Dujail.

The sentence "must be implemented within 30 days," chief judge Aref Shahin said. "From tomorrow, any day could be the day of implementation."

On Nov. 5, an Iraqi court sentenced Saddam to the gallows for ordering the 1982 killings following an attempt on his life.

Under Iraqi law, the appeals court decision must be ratified by President Jalal Talabani and Iraq's two vice presidents. Talabani opposes the death penalty but has in the past deputized a vice president to sign an execution order on his behalf — a substitute that was legally accepted.

Raed Juhi, a spokesman for the High Tribunal court that convicted Saddam, said the judicial system would ensure that Saddam is executed even if Talabani and the two vice presidents do not ratify the decision.

"We'll implement the verdict by the power of the law," Juhi said. He did not elaborate...

I could care less if the president has a "D" or "R" next to his name when Saddam was captured and sentenced.Saddam should pay for his crimes and the world is a better place without him.Since we know what pacifist/pussys/girlly men liberal politicians are they would still be screaming Saddam has WMDs we should do something about it if Gore was elected instead of Bush.

Well personally I think the trial against Saddam was a disaster. That it was punishment and revenge but not justice or truth.

That yes he should be convicted, but that is a no challenge with all the crimes he have commited.

But this trial became a disgrace and humilation to all Saddams victims. Because it focused one only one of his crimes. That so many crimes was left in the dark without being brought to light and justice. Thereby denying the victims and there relatives the truth and justice.

On another note. Even though this would have been the outcome of any trial involving Saddam. Has anybody thought about what will actually happen right after? Will Iraq Implode? Explode? How much is violence going to escalate? Will we need more troops? He should be executed after we've calculated every possible consequence this will have and have taken the necesary precautions to stop any new rebelions within Iraq. Thats what I love about modern day neo-cons. They only think 10 meters ahead when they drive they dont see the walls that might be 40 meters away.
