DeLay in trouble again...

Source: Washinton Times

Quote:
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said yesterday that he has done nothing wrong ethically, and is eager to talk to the ethics committee about recent news reports questioning whether two overseas trips he took, paid for by interest groups, violated House standards.
"I feel confident I've done nothing wrong," the Texas Republican said.
He harshly criticized a series of stories in The Washington Post, which reported Mr. DeLay took a trip to South Korea in 2001 that was paid for by a group that had registered as a foreign agent and another trip to Britain in 2000 that the newspaper said largely was funded by an Indian tribe and gambling interests. The paper said Mr. DeLay later voted against a bill the tribe and gambling interests opposed.

Re: DeLay in trouble again...

couldn't agree more! hooray for young people who know politics!

delay is a new species of particularly insidious ****roach, not even nuclear war will stop this one! we have to get him now while he' s in the cross-hairs. no killing him however, humiliation is the key here, put him in population at a texas prison!

to the censors: ****roach is a scientific term, not at all associated with profanity!

Re: DeLay in trouble again...

Imagine what Republicans would be doing if DeLay were a Democrat, or if DeLay's last name was Clinton?

Can anyone think of any other member of Congress currently serving who's been publicly flogged by the Congress HALF as many times as DeLay?

Typical socialist-lib-dem tactics. If you can beat 'em at the polls, sue 'em, screw em' and tattoo 'em with the nastiest labels known to man.

It just happens to be DeLay's turn.

Yeah the GOP would never do that.

It's comforting to know that you agree.

Don't place mudslinging squarely on the shoulders of Democrats when Republicans do it just as much, if not more. It's not a 'socialist-lib-Dem' thing, it's just a fact of modern American politics. By tthe way, I have a problem with you calling liberals socialists, when they are clearly two separate ideologies. And then to paint a picture of Dems as socialist? That's totally ridiculous. There hasn't been a socialist running as a Dem in some time. Frankly, the Dems of late have been just a pro-capitalist as the GOP (the Clinton years, and his and Blair's 'third way'). The socialist party is socialist (duh), the Dems are certainly not socialist.

It is obvious that we share different perspectives.

You know the old saw, "If it looks like a duck, etc., etc."
