For all you Elder Scrolls fans, another release on the horizon! Can't wait. Going to buy a desktop computer just for this.

The trailer ends with "11.11.11" so im guessing its being released on the 11th of November 2011 which is 11 months away (coincidence!) which kind of sucks. But i'm sure they will feed us some pictures and exciting new glimpses up until then so that we can keep the faith.

Gives me a year to actually go back to TES IV and not get distracted and ACTUALLY FINISH THE EXPANSION PACKS AND THE MAIN STORYLINE!

Seriously i've had it for years but haven't even made enough progress to finish off the main story lines

So the website isn't loading up for me, its just showing a logo for the new TES V: Skyrim game. So in case that was the actual intention of the website, and it isn't meant to load, here is the trailer:

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Video Game, VGA 10: Exclusive Debut Trailer HD | Video Clip | Game Trailers & Videos | GameTrailers.com

Anyway so check out the full map:

I hope the game includes more than just Skyrim since Cyrodiil seems bigger to me.

Post and share your excitement!

I hope its more like Morrowind than it was like Oblivion.

I think the very last expansion to the game (Shivering Isles) had that Morrowind feel to it. But what do you mean "more like Morrowind and less like Oblivion"? Do you mean physically or game play wise?

1. I preferred the skill system in Morrowind.
2. I preferred the more exotic feel of Morrowind.
3. Morrowind's plot was far more interesting.
4. The repetative going to the tower and destroying the evil ball at the top got kind of annoying.

The Shivering Isles expansion was pretty interesting.

Probably gameplay, you could basicly determin your own course in Morrowind, less in Oblivion. The only part I didn't like about Morrowind were the 96346 caves you had to work your way through. Often I would visit eusp.wiki, read the walkthroughs and only do the missions without caves.

Supposedly, according to the Elder Scrolls Wiki, the main page at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is supposed to show the wall from the video with lots of details in it, but the page is not loading for me.

. Visit The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and you can browse the large stone wall that appears in the video - it has many different scenes depicted on it.

You should have acted.
They're already here.
The Elder Scrolls told of their return.
Their defeat was merely delay
Til the time after Oblivion opened,
When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.
But no-one wanted to believe.
Believe they even existed.
And when the truth finally dawns:
It dawns in fire.
But,
There's one they fear.
In their tongue, he's Dovahkiin: Dragon Born!

I am pretty excited, and like Mega, I seriously hope this has more of the Morrowind feel to it, and now the simplified for console players of Oblivion.

Edit: page finally loaded, and it's just the video and links to facebook page and pre-order.

I agree with your points. I also likes the culture of Morrowind. It seemed more fantasy oriented while Oblivion felt like your typical medieval RPG. I didn't really like the Roman feel that it had. I really liked Morrowind's uniqueness. I hope the new game is more like that. Did you like the ability to quick travel between points? I thought it was convenient, but it kinda took a lot of fun out of the game in my opinion. I liked riding in the stilt riders and boats XD. They also need to bring back levitation and the ability to teleport.

What was the skill system like?

And yeah, closing Oblivion gates - ugh! - didn't even bother with them personally, except at Kvatch. And i had a home near an oblivion gate that i ended up closing cause the sky kept going red every time i went there, not to mention the horde of little creatures i got visiting me everyday.

There was teleport? I actually thought that was an awesome idea to have in Oblivion so i downloaded the teleport mod. TES would be nothing if it wasn't for the construction kit which is basically limitless in its abilities. The game just never ended, i personally loved every moment of Oblivion. I hope they can revamp the guilds though - make them more interesting, greater selection of guilds, greater incentive to climb the ranks of them would be cool too.

Did you ever become arch mage of the mages guild?

I'm excited, though I wish they'd done it somewhere other than Skyrim, 'cause I imagine it'll have a similar feel to Oblivion/Cyrodiil, as it's a Norse based place, so it won't be as exotic as Morrowind, personally I was hoping for Hammerfell or Valenwood. But it'll be a great game regardless, I'm sure. I just hope the story line is more like Morrowind than Oblivion.

You could teleport in the mages guilt, you could also use almasivi intervention and divine intervention to warp to Imperial temples of Tribunal cult temples. You could also cast bind and return to set your own teleport spot and return there at any time. I loved doing that.

I was hoping for valenwood or blackmarsh. But skyrim is smaller than cyrodiil! Hopefully they will include another province too. I didnt think they would have done hammerfell since it has already been done anyway.

In the trailer it referenced a dragon, so I'm hoping it involves Akavir as well as Skyrim.

I wish i bought Morrowind when it first came out. Mind you i would have been too young to fully appreciate it anyway. Point is i bought it with the intention of seeing how much better than Oblivion it is (didn't think that was possible!) but i just couldn't get into the graphics or the compressed audio files and the lack of physics!

Apparently there is a mod that overhauls everything and brings the graphics up to Oblivion standards, but it still lacks any kind of ragdoll physics technology. If i can find it i will most certainly give it a second shot, since you guys are so fond of it.

Some interesting stuff in the month since word was released.

February Cover Revealed: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News - www.GameInformer.com

One image has a series of runes, which can be translated:

Dragonborn Dragonborn
By his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray

And the scrolls have fortold
Of black wings in the cold
That when brothers wage war come unfurled
Alduin bane of kings
Ancient shadow unbound
With a hunger to swallow the world

It has also been confirmed that this is a brand new game engine and not just the Gamebryo engine used in Oblivion and Fallout.
