So I've been playing Hitman, the most recent installment. It is quite fun and it has gorgeous levels with so man ways to approach a situation. The one thing that it lacks to me...is a sense of hand to hand combat skill. Hence my creation of this thread. Just to see if there are any there like minded gamers out there.
When I played Hitman: absolution, I loved trying to play like Jason Bourne. Go in with no weapon, defeat as many guys as I could with hand to hand and still complete the hits. And it absolution had a decent hand to hand mechanic. It felt more like 47 was an expert in defeating enemies while unarmed. He felt lethal without a silver baller.
And while I understand that isn't the point of the game (stealth hits), and I truly enjoy the stealth side too, I just wish we could have a game out there that is reminiscent of Jason Bourne. We had the old game, but it forced you to engage in the enemy in hand to hand, had 0 stealth, the gunplay wasn't very good, and it just didn't quite give a mental work out like a Bourne game.
If I were to make a game it would resemble Hitman or even assassins creed. You would have a target with a variety of attack angles, objectives, and then once the mission is carried out you have to get out. Fighting the police would be survive, but if you got involved in small scale fights it would be survivable. And you wouldn't see the same move repeated every time. You as the gamer would have a sense of control over the striking and stabbing and improv weapon use.
So after that rant if you are still here:
If a new Bourne game came out that really made you feel like a human weapon would you play it? Or do you think it would be a flop?
