Does anyone like playing counter strike or has played counter strike?

What do you like about the game?

If you had to, what rating would you give it?

(Also, don't be afraid to join my new counter strike group! :D)

Personally, I like:

#1 the game's realism aspects

#2 style (cooperative, one life, FPS)

#3 super smooth animations (seriously, sometimes I wonder if the guns are just made of marshmallow or something)

I used to play it. I used to play a good amount of video games. Now with graduating college, and busy with work, I just cannot find the time to play many video games. I also have lost a great deal of interest in them as well.

Played it for a bit, did not like it as much as other FPS games. I prefer ARMA 3 a for more realism based game and Battlefield series games for action / entertainment.

For CS I'd rate at roughly 70 of 100. What I do like about the game is the cooperation aspect, which makes it similar to ARMA in success or failure. ARMA I'd rate at 85, BF4 I'd put at 90.

I played it over 10 years ago, didnt know it was still around

Yeah, the newest installation was released in 2010 and just recently became extremely popular (#2 in the world for viewership) and is titled "Global Operation"

CS:GO

i used to play it,have cs 1.6 through go.i love the realism of it,even though they sacrificed some of it to have a tiered weapon system.my favorite was gun games, where everyone started out with a glock, and every kill got you one weapon higher until someone got the final weapon kil(grenade or knife depending on server)

I wish the G18 had its signature fully automatic instead of just burst :D

I played it a long time ago... the scenery was nice, it ran smooth, but gameplay was arcadish as all hell...realistic looking environment, but incredibly unrealistic gameplay.

after watching a couple of CS:GO gameplay videos, it doesn't seem much has changed to me.

Play arma. Lol. CS isn't realistic lol. Don't get me wrong. I love the game. It is a fast paced 1st person shooter, but it isn't realistic :) I guess compared to Halo? Lol.

The game is great. It is absolutely the most competitive and well balanced games on the market. There is a formula, Valve found it, and they have not changed the formula. Just the numbers. Game companies like EA could learn from them. They won't though.

It really hasn't needed too. Name another truly competitive and evenly matched game like it? Not one that is as well balanced. I mean COD tries to be CS, but it falls flat on its face. I think the key is it isn't about the money to valve. It is about CS being the pinnacle of how your Fps, or multiplayer competitive games, should be. COMPETITIVE.

that's all well and good... it's just not my thing... I personally prefer realism in more than just environment.
if arcardish shooters are the "pinnacle" .. i'll be more than happy competing in the valley below with the rest of realism guys.
there's been more than a few top titles i gave up on due ot the lack of realism.. COD is one of them, CS is another.

one of the better games i've played was Americas Army ( on the PC, XBOX version sucked ass ).. for all it's faults, it's done better than most in terms of realism
no bunny hoppin' quickscope headshots.. no predictive recoil.. no goofy hitbox models... no cross map pistol headshots... no laser-like ballistics models and the list goes on and on and on.
the graphics engines were subpar and they came late to the game with ragdoll physics, but they did well on realism... and it was very competitive.

that said, I'm not sure what you mean by "evenly matched"... i mean, every shooter, no matter if its arcadish, tactical, or what have you.. is evenly matched , in terms of competition.

I prefer realism as well. I am just talking about the pinnacle in terms of how to make a game competitive, balanced, easy learn, difficult to master, and all of that. It is just cream as far as that is concerned. They deliver everything their fans want. Not like BF and Cod.

ahhh ok.. gotcha.

yeah, for that particular genre, they pretty much nailed it.

I like those steep leaning curves in realistic games.... if anything , it keeps the kids and lazy people away

My only issue with CS GO is that if I lag out of competitive or something (which is not my fault) they slap a week long ban on me...

Speeking of week long competitive bans. I got one for no reason (I wasn't even playing competitive Q_Q)

Suspected hacking then maybe. Stop cheating ;)

Love CS- its not as realistic as some of the other shooters but its way more fun to play. I wonder if they made a CS:GO version for zombie panic? Love playing that mod for CS.
