Favorite Video Game Trailers, Intro Movies, and Cutscenes

IMO it doesn't get any better than this sword fight cut scene from FFIV: Crisis Core:

How can we forget Tidus and Yuna from the mother of all RPG's?

The ME3 trailers are just badass.

Chrono Trigger! The coolest opening on the SNES.

From Wargame: European Escalation.

The cutscene isn't that great in and of itself. However, in context it is actually rather disturbing.

The game didn't have much of a plot leading up to this mission. It was just random scenarios involving NATO going up against the USSR and Pact nations (i.e. 'wargames,' essentially).

Then, out of the blue on the last NATO mission, the game - rather matter of factly - announces that the nuclear missiles have been launched, and the movie shown above plays.

The casual and utterly deadpan way the narrator (who up to this point, had no real distinguishing personal characteristics) talks about the nuclear holocaust, his rage at having lost his family, and his ruthless intention to take revenge for their deaths upon the political leaders responsible, is actually kind of chilling, IMO.

It's the end of the world as he knows it, and he "feels fine," apparently.

I like it, there were plenty of this type of game way back, but the whole international nuclear war thing seems fresh again.

How about GOT yesterday? A trippy episode for sure.

And, you might like this...

Totally. The latest sequel actually adds China and naval warfare to the fray.

Fair warning though, the difficulty level and learning curve tends to be a bit on the "insane" side. lol

The trial scene was Dinklage's best performance on the show to date.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

The unexpected Beach Boys circa 1912 from Bioshock Infinite

And the best ending, Portal, with a song about cake.
