Is this game addicting or is it just me?!?

I haven't bothered to journey into the MP portion, anyone have an assessment of it? Redundant or worthy of my time?

I hear it is rather good. It is kind of unique as far as multiplayer goes.

Excellent game! A good experience, the game is a world of its own, a unique experience

I had to play catchup and bought all the Assassins Creed games off Amazon. I never finished AC1 but have finished AC2, AC Brotherhood and Revelations. I got stuck on AC3 where you had to ride to save the Indian village. Frustrated, I installed Black Flag. I found Black Flag exceedingly easy during the fight scenes, that is until I reached the section, "Nothing is True." That stealth area was a pain in the neck, to put it mildly. I finally made it through it, but had to put Black Flag aside and go back to AC3 to complete all the cutesy Homestead missions, until I could finally set my mind to making it through that section in Black Flag. Now, I'm at the impasse where I'm supposed to take out a fort and keep losing the ship. God, I hate sea battle games. This version of Assassins Creed is hardly about assassins at all. They should have just called it Pirates Creed.

Mortars are your best friend.

Yeah, I finally destroyed the fort that's in the main mission, and mortars did the trick. I still haven't figured out how to hunt a whale or shark. I hear my crew commenting that there is some good meat down there, but then I get attacked by some ship, and there is no stopping to rest. I did go back to where the whale was sighted, but had no idea how to proceed, unless that is some future endeavor, and I will get to it, eventually.

Regarding forts, I hate those sections with the forts where you have a storm and can't go full sails. That's my whole plan of attack. Hit them hard, then go to full sails and escape.

Little area in the water usually with birds flying around that you sail into and it will tell you to push whatever button to begin.

Do some ship battles and upgrade your ship a little before doing forts.

Make sure to put ships into your fleet because the Fleet mini-game is required to fully upgrade your ship. The grinding parts are redundant, like multi-player, or the 100 percent synchronization for the main missions, but the game is pretty good.

You must get through a couple chapters of the main story before you get the whaling boat. The upgrades are pretty frivolous and only necessary if you care to fully upgrade everything.

You can stay out of range of the fort until the storm passes. They typically don't last long. Also, don't forget about your mortars with forts either. And start with the forts in the north before venturing south so you can get your strategy down before attacking the tougher ones.

The mini-game is an easy way to make boatloads of cash too. Once you fully stock the fleet it only takes two or three trips to earn 200,000+.

Yeah, I lucked into a whale hunt. Took me at least 3 times to kill the humpback whale. For some reason, I kept holding down the mouse attack button, something you had to do in AC3. It's hard to get out of old habits with these games when Ubisoft changes the controls on you. Yeah, I discovered the mini-ship game a couple of days ago and find that pretty simple, plus being able to pick up extra funds. It beats looting dead bodies, or pickpocketing citizens. For awhile, I had no missions, until I saw the sea battle button down in the lower part of the screen. There is a lot to this game that I just luck into finding. I especially despise the missions where I have to tail a guy, who walks into a fort that is heavily guarded and then I have to find an alternate way in. I don't worry about 100% synchronization and wonder what the heck is that for, in fhe first place, unless it opens up parts of the game that I wouldn't see without full synchronization.

If you complete half of the assassin missions (really easy once you get the blowpipe), you get a "stealth" outfit which makes it easier to hide.

I have the blowpipe, already but don't know about a stealth outfit. I guess I should check the outfit section in my ship. I'm still wearing the brown outfit. I did see the Altair and the Ezio outfit but couldn't see wearing those. Half the time, I forget I have the blowpipe. If I use it, I prefer the berserk darts, which make it funny watching the guards go at each other. I wait around watching them, that I forget I have somebody to tail.

You automatically get the stealth outfit once you complete half of the assassin contracts. The contracts are marked as skulls in the villages.

Well, I got the blowpipe after doing the "Nothing is True" mission with James Kidd. I haven't completed all of the assassin contracts, only when I see them. Lately, I have been following the storyline, rather closely and ignoring everything else. There is a lot to see in that game, other than just the storyline.

I also find it quite annoying that you can't crouch when you want to, only when you're in the bushes, or perched in a tree or ledge.

You can generally push through the story quickly without upgrading the ship much. But you need to craft some health upgrades if you haven't already.

I already discovered that I had the stealth suit in my wardrobe. It looks more like a hood with a grass skirt, and he's barefooted with some leaves on his arm. Right now, I'm trying to listen to these guys talking about the Sage, but I'm having one heck of a time following them. I either get caught or don't hear enough of the conversation, which I find absurd because I hear every word these guys are saying. I like the grading system the gamers offer here, because I give these annoying stealth and listening missions one star. In any event I give Black Flag, better ratings than I would give AC 3. That game is quite annoying.

Well, I arrived at the Observatory and even got to the part where Edward now has very little health so that he must survive. Why he now has no health is beyond me when he has completely regenerated health in each episode. Now, I'm stuck in the Abstergo labs trying to make a ball pass through some walls. You know, if I wanted to play horizontal Tetris, I would have purchased Tetris, but the Ubisoft gamers need to let the player play the pirate game, not their cutesy little computer hacking games. They suck. I'm experiencing a slow burn, now. I just can't wait until they ask me what I thought of that sequence. At this point in time, I probably won't bother buying another Assassins Creed game if I must deal with the behind the scenes lab sequences. They are annoying, to say the least.
