I actually enjoyed PVP battlegrounds, I was just so sick of Huttball since there were so many more Imperials. I wish SWTOR had better world PVP, that the planets weren't so segregated and that you actually had reason to go back to other planets regularly, rather than being done with them after their level range with one set of call back quests.

I loved the content, the voice acting, the leveling and questing quite a bit. Once I hit max level though, if it wasn't raid day my choice was repetitive dailies or an alt.

Still a good game, if it were fully free I'd go back and play every class for the story, but as it stands my account is Free to Play and stuck w/ 2 character slots.

I played Everquest for 10 years and changed to SWTOR when it came out and still play it.

New expansion coming soon in SWTOR and there has been tons of changes to PVP and more to come. One of the main changes is that new content will push you to revisit lower level planets (places you have been before) to accomplish different goals.

The problem with open PVP events in SWTOR was that it had to be arranged on the server (unless a PVP server of course) in prearranged areas at prearranged times. And the actual place they put in to be an open PVP area could not handle it.. the graphics were too intensive so lots of people lagged out. Now saying that, they have since hence replaced the area with more warzones, and the area in question Illum, is now part of an event going on where there is open PVP. Rumor has it they will put in a new optimized PVP planet for open world PVP... but as a PVE person.. PVP SUCKS! :)

Also since they changed how servers worked.. before you had one zone per server, which meant there was ghost servers basically as we all were spread out all over the place... but now they have consolidated servers and added instancing per zone when you reach a pre-determined number (normally between 50 to 100 per instance). This has helped a lot.. there are actually several instances of pretty much all planets now at prime time. It has also helped server populations massively... although as usual it is always tanks or healers that are lacking for group content :).. that is not something Bioware can fix.

Best: Everquest, Eve Online
Worst: SW:TOR

Would agree with you on the best.. although never had the nerve to play Eve Online.

As for worst.. I disagree. Anarchy Online when it came out, WoW, RIFT, Vanguard and a few others were all much worse than SWTOR :) Hell Anarchy Online when it came out had so many graphics bugs that it was unplayable and worst of all, the whole payment system was done via unsecured weblinks wtf... granted it was long ago, but still. I dont rate SWTOR as one of the best overall but it is not bad... especially the story is cool... something many of the new games lack.. including WoW.

Why did you not have the verve to play Eve? You can try it for 2 weeks free and has one of the more helpful communities to get information for new players.

Anarchy Online was terrible, but did improve alot. There have been worse releases(see WW2 Online). WoW/Rift/Vanguard did not actively annoy me like SW:TOR, but that is purely a taste thing.

Cause it is a huge download haha.. will take me ages.

I know, but still at the start.. gezz..

May I ask what annoys you with SWTOR?

Cutscenes and too much reliance on them and voices as opposed to gameplay. I play a game to play a game, not to listen to voice actors.

WoW vanilla at release was some of my favorite times, because I was on a PvP server, one of the first 60s on that server, and maliciously deviant.

It's fun to pick on things that can't fight back. Like slapping a baby.

Too soon?

Ahh I see, well that is what has drawn me there... the atmosphere and story. Else it is nothing but an updated WoW clone in space.

I can still think of far worse than SWTOR. Just playing Wizardry Online recently is evidence of that.

I played Runescape from '04 to '10/'11 or so.

I've played a lot of them, and while I played WoW the most I think the only real reason was there were a lot of people playing it. I eventually gave up when I realized that to go anywahere in the game after a certain level would take more time than I had, and the end game was really just not fun. It is an unpaid job.

Of the rest, here are my favorites and why:

Guild Wards 2
Pro - It's a huge world with lots to do and a good story
Con - Dungeons are ridiculously difficult

The Secret World
Pro- Has the best story/setting of all the games I have played (if you like Horror movie settings). Instanced dungeons are very fun and well balanced and quick. Solo game is solid. Good skill system
Con - Not a lot of people playing, hard to find groups.

SW: TOR
Pro - Good story line if you like Star Wars. Good dungeons and great solo game.
Con - The itemization in the game gives me an ice cream headache. You can have two weapons with identical stats and one is better than the other in DPS with no rhyme or reason.

Rift
Pro - Cool skill system. Great visuals. Fun Dungeons.
Con - Somehow I felt it was less than the sum of its parts. I will likely be going back to this one next though.

Rift seemed to have died when SW: TOR was released. That's was drove me away...Warfronts dried up and that was my favorite part of the game. Codex was the best.

Used to play WoW way back then too. Was really fun, but once you got to the end instances like Stratholme and Upper, I didn't understand the point anymore because any story elements just went out the window.

that was the parts that I liked: each area had a story to tell.

I didn't care as much about the story, to an extent, and I DAMN sure didn't feel like going on 40 man UBRS/Strat/Scholo raids for an outside shot at .5 tier blue gear.

Warcraft to me was horde killing alliance. That's what I did. My 60 warlorc went to Gankshire and killed lvl 15 peons.

Zug zug.
