The Worst Video Game You Ever Played?

The first Star Wars MMO. I was sooooooo excited! Played it for an hour. Worst gaming experience in my life. A butterfly... BUTTERFLY kicked my ass again and again. (dont say 'like in real life') and moving around was close to impossible in a fluid manner.

Aww, I rather liked Star Wars Galaxies at launch, they ruined it quite quickly though in order to get more people to play.

There was actually a reason to go to every planet no matter your level, I loved tracking my bounties from planet to planet with droids. Unlike SWTOR which limited world PVP so much and each planet was useful for a few levels and then you never return.

All Star Wars MMOs are, were, and will remain crap.

I'll go old school and say the Pitfall sequel for Atari.

I'm not sure if the 1st Bubsy the Bobcat should count or not—it was fun, but excrutiatingly difficult to beat.

Command and Conquer Generals....****ing hijacked a great series. EA Blows.

Superman 64

Call of Duty 3, easily. No doubt at all. Hate it, so god damned much.

I remember when I was young I played this unplayable Scooby-Doo game. Following the instructions didn't do nil to help win the game.

Wii Carnival is also pretty lame.

...which Scooby-Doo game was it? Was it for SNES?:mrgreen:

I think I'm playing the worst game ever played right now, Far Cry 3. It's predecessor Far Cry 2 was so bad, I finally gave up on it and uninstalled it. I'm about to do so with Far Cry 3.

It is a first-person shooter with plenty of shootouts between you and pirates and mercenaries. What I don't like is that you cannot save wherever you want to save it. The game only saves when you have completed the allotted steps through a particular quest line, and the game has been made next to impossible to get through each quest. There are three game play levels, low, medium, and high, and I am at the medium level. Getting killed over and over before I finally luck out and get through a level is not my idea of an enjoyable experience. Having had experience with previous Battlefield games made me stay away from Battlefield 3 for the same reason that you are not allowed to save anywhere in the game. In fact, Far Cry 3 looks very similar to Battlefield in the way it is played, weapons and all.

I guess I'm spoiled after playing Skyrim. The scenery in Far Cry 3 is awesome, just like in the original and much better Far Cry. In contrast, the people depicted in the game are blocky depictions of people. Where the game's designers went overboard in the scenery, they failed miserably at creating human beings. I give it thumbsdown all the way and wish I had not told my wife to buy it for my Christmas present. There is one redeeming factor about my Christmas presents in that the wife also bought "Dishonored". I am about to give up on FC3 and check out Dishonored.

If you pause and look at the bottom of the menu there is a save option. Personally I think Far Cry 3 is one of the best games out right now and I didnt care for the other two at all.

Oh yeah, there is a "Save" option, but if you are in the middle of a quest, it won't let you save your progress, and when you turn off the game and shut down the PC for the night, the next day, you end up at either a radio tower or a liberated outpost, and then you have to backtrack where you were. It would also appear like that there is only one slot to save your progress, very similar to "quicksave" on other games.

I was in that part where Citra gives you that liquid to drink, and you trip out and have to fight the giant devil. Well, I dispatch him quite quickly, but then you're placed in the dark with the ink creatures chasing you all over the place. I can take them down pretty quickly with my machete, but not all of them, because while they are attacking me, I can't heal myself. I got so sick of dying over and over, that I abandoned the mission and just went exploring, driving cars real fast around the mountain roads, speed boating down the river and trying to liberate outposts. Now, the one redeeming part of the game is the Rakyat trials you can get in. I am already second in sniper ability. I had fun beating everybody's score last night, but I just can't get the winning points to be first place.

Yeah not being able to save during a mission is pretty stupid and its the one major complaint about the game I have. And I remember the part with the ink monster you were talking about and what you can do is turn down the difficulty for just that part of the game then turn it back up afterwards. Or at least Im pretty sure I saw a difficulty adjustment in the options menu.

I havent tried the Rakyat trials yet. What Ive been doing is trying to use fast travel only when I have a "safe" path from my current location to the place I want to fast travel then I walk the rest of the way and do random things to keep me entertained until I reach my destination like placing a mine on a random road and waiting for a car to drive over it or something.

I'll admit, the game does have its good points, especially the combat, which is everywhere.

The Path of the Hunter quests are ridiculous, though. One quest was kill 3 bears with a submachine gun. Yeah, right. Nine mm rounds only tickle a bear. Then there was the quest to kill 12 rabid dogs with an RPG, but they allowed you to kill them with a machete. When I took out 3 dogs while firing the RPG at a jeep and blowing it up, the next scene is that I failed and was supposed to use the RPG. Well, I used the RPG, but wasn't supposed to make the jeep explode. Go figure. Then there is another Trial of the Rakyat where you shoot birds with a .45, not a shotgun. The knife throwing contests are pretty funny with what the Rakyat tribesman says to you when he misses a throw.

Yeah, I thought about dialing back the difficulty, but I hate to do that.

There was a game called Wolfenstein, a remake of the old game, and about every 3rd level you had to fight an impossible boss. It got so bad, that I found the cheat codes and put myself on god mode just to be able to get through to the next level. Well, you could save your progress, there, and the graphics were beautiful, but that was about it. I got to the end and uninstalled it. In fact, I just gave it away, recently.

I remember the Call of Duty games, but they have the same problem that Far Cry 3 has, you can't save your games. You have to get to a certain checkpoint before your progress is saved.

Ironic that some of the WORST games are always the ones with the BEST graphics.

Out of curiosity, does anyone think Resident Evil 6 was a terrible game?

Yeah, with Far Cry 3, the outdoor graphics, weapons, automobiles, and the animals are really good, but they scrimped on the people.
